Not turbine powered. Designed as a lightweight COIN aircraft.

Funny you should mention that, Sycamore.

I can't spot the rudder pedals, either, but this aircraft definitely had a rudder and there must be some way to make it flap back and forth.

Glenn

Edit: To avoid any confusion, this aircraft HAS a rudder, i.e. some are still airworthy, according to my search.

Okay, time for a clue or two.

The original design is 80 years old, but it is still well suited for pleasure flights on a sunny day in France.

Not linked controls. I just found this shot of the lower cockpit...

It's a bit hard to sort out all the ironmongery but those are definitely rudder cables and the site where I found this points out the heel brakes below.

Btw, the earlier reference to France does not mean this aircraft was European.

Glenn

Must be a parasol wing, maybe Dewoitine?.Looks like the stick is carved from a chair leg ,and the parking brakes are `rubber` bands on the pedals..

A 145 hp Scarab, actually. In this particular aircraft, that engine was an upgrade from the original installation. Other examples of this bird had various engines, though.
