Initially I thought Su-29, but the coaming is the wrong shape. Further research reveals it to be a Yak-54

I took the photo while taxying for takeoff at Tauranga in February, for my second-ever Vampire flight, after a gap of over forty years. I mentioned to a friend that the cockpit seemed much more cramped than I remembered. He very charitably suggested that perhaps I was flying a 7/8ths scale Vampire.

The altimeter appears to be in feet. Is that an important clue?
