What Cockpit? MK VI
BSD,
I hope you have an uneventful night.
Not the Airtruk, but you are on the right track. This aircraft is beautiful by comparison.

Hi India Four Two,
I agree, but the name is none too flattering if it what I think it is, the Gippsland GA200 Fatman ??
Open House if correct please.
This aircraft is beautiful by comparison

SincoTC,
Yes the Fatman - this one:
Effectively an all-new, enlarged Pawnee. I don't know the derivation of the name. It makes a great glider towplane. An interesting feature is that the pilot's seat and controls are slightly offset, so there is room for a (small) passenger on the right. Sort of a one-and-a-half seater.
SincoTC has declared Open House.

India Four Two,
The box on top of the panel is a FLARM. Developed in Switzerland, it is a kind of 'poor mans' TCAS. The FLARM units all broadcast to each other and a display on the box indicates when one is getting too close and where it is relative to yourself. Often mandated for glider competitions in this part of the world.

Edited to correct country of origin and apologise to India Four Two for having a blonde moment and missing the fact it was a clue. Think I've had too much sun!

That was a rhetorical question. A very poorly worded clue. All of the fleet at Omarama has FLARM installed.
There is a very good simulation of how FLARM would have helped possibly prevent a mid-air in the US at this link: GliderPilot.org - Parowan Mid-air Simulation
Luckily both pilots survived.

Developed in Australia?? Urs will be miffed. FLARM is designed and made in Swizerland, although units for use in Ozland (and presumably NZ) have their frequency changed
