I was gutted because I have spent time in that Tornado sim but coudn't find anything on the web to confirm my suspicions, and assumed old age and/or the Chenin Blanc was playing me up again..

So here's another along similar lines:

Graeme. Certainly from the photograph the cockpit framing structure is asymmetrical. The other photographs of the aircraft on the net tend to confirm that is the case.

Bri & Aviate1138. This aircraft was not Italian.

Last edited by MReyn24050; 6th Dec 2011 at 09:29. Reason: Confirmation that the cockpit framing is asymmetrical.

Not Polish or Czech Terry. It was designed and built to take part in the European touring plane championship mid 1930s.

You have it Bri. The Fieseler Fi.97

Looking at this photograph of the aircraft it certainly does look as though the port side of the canopy had an extra vertical frame compared to the starboard side.

Following the success of their two-seat tourer/trainer the Fieseler F5, Fieseler were encouraged by the German Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM) to develop a four-seat version specially to take part in the European touring plane championship Challenge 1934.
The result of this request was the Fi 97, designed by Kurt Arnolt.
You have control Bri.
