Easy peasy.

That would be RAF Beyond the Back of Beyond.

A popular hangout for those denied the pleasure of MPA.

Somewhere in Malaysia?

BTW the Tprop when my turn comes you will pay for this

hint #1: There is a P38 in the water just off the end of the runway.

No, not Malaysia.

Hi tprop - it was hard! I was lucky. When I saw the photo and 'not Malaysia' I took a wild guess at Guadalcanal/Solomon Islands. Then it was only a matter of time on Google. This photo did it...

I'll have to dig out a photo and get back to you. Bear with me a while...

Here's a piece of Seghe trivia: When Air Sols doesn't have a flight - which is most of the time - the field doubles a soccer/football pitch.

Blimey - I wouldn't fancy playing midfield much - a lot of ground to cover!

OK - on to the next challenge. Sorry it is a bit home-made...

What the airfield is home made?? Looks like a place in Holland I saw once from an airliner; never did identify it.

Ho ho! Yes, we have a big back garden!! What I meant was it is not a camera photograph. It's a Google Earth 'still' - as you can probably tell.

And no - not Holland. I will hazard a guess that you were possibly looking at Deelen?

Time for a clue?

It is east of Holland. Northern hemisphere... I thought the hard-standing patterns might give away the nationality.

I thought either Polish, who have a plethora of single strip airfields or East German, again influenced by their Moscovite association.

The exasperated post of JW411 was priceless - 'shambles'!!!! It reads like a comedy script - hope we have another soon...................... Anyway, back to the mysterious eastern european military drome..................

Don't tell Ryanair about this thread or they'll probably start flights to airports even more obscure than Hahn-Mosel once the location of the old East European highway strips is revealed....
