I fear not Mediterranean. This one is substantially east of suez.Top tip :Good view of it from G214.

Not Kunming. However Mr Ripley is very,very close - may I invite inspection of the position of the antennae on the subject airfield? 160 Sqdn passed through here ( briefly) in 1942.

Just reading through the thread - a small correction to posts 3877(Chevron) and 3878 (Nacluv) about RAF Beaulieu...

That airfield was not known as East Boldre- not at any time ...East Boldre was a seperate aerodrome that existed much earlier (1910 to 1919) on the other side of the Lymington- Brockenhurst road.

The site of the East Boldre field was later (post WW2) used as a DZ by aircraft from Beaulieu.

RAF Beaulieu was never called "Brockenhurst" other than by those who did not know it's proper name.

The small remaining patch of runway is used for model aircraft flying.
