Blenheim IV - L9329

Now I know that this is a very tall order but does anyone out there know or admit to being the surviving relatives of the following crew of 53 Squadron Blenheim IV L9329 shot down on 03 May 1940 and which impacted on the Hornisgrinde above the village of Sasbach near Baden-Baden?

40798 P/O John Leslie Gilbert BUTTERWORTH (Age 21 Son of Joseph Leonard and Cicely Ellen Butterworth, of Ewell, Surrey).

565936 Sgt (Obs) Maurice George Arthur PEARCE (Age 24 Son of Arthur and Florence Ellen Pearce of Botesdale, Suffolk; husband of Kathleen Marjorie Blackwell PEARCE. His brother Ronald William also died on service).

624992 AC2 Robert Arthur WOOD. (No other details).

German friends have erected a memorial to this crew on the mountain and have erected a memorial to the crew in the village churchyard where they were originally buried.

Please send me a PM.

JW411 - Have you tried contacting the 53 Sqn Historian? Contact details are in his book 'United in Effort - The Story of No 53 Sqn Royal Air Force' by Jock Manson. Air-Britain Publication ISBN 0-85130-260-2. I know that many relatives of 53 Sqn members have been in touch with him.
The book also records the loss of L9329 and has more information on the Squadron's activities at the time.

Mike:

I'm afraid your excellent tips came to naught but many thanks for your help.
