Rather than a new thread, thread Hijack:
I was passing the old Croydon Airport buildings yesterday. Is their gate guardian a DH Dove? It is looking in need of some paint.

I noticed a sign to a 'visitor centre', does that cover the flying years or just the industrial estate years?

The old terminal building and control tower are open to the public on the first Sunday of every month. It is free of charge (although you are able to make a donation) and is well worth a visit.

The Jet Age Museum one is now on the gate at Gloucestershire Airport and looks great...the RAF having given it some TLC for the Centenary of Flight display at Fairford. It's Sapphire engines, however, are laying in the grass on the far side of the airfield with the rest of the rapidly deteriorating collection
