DH88 photos (31/01/05)

Today was my trial flying lesson, at Derby and after the lesson they let me take a good look at the DH88 they are rebuilding fly again.

Here are a few low quality even by my standard photos

Here is the RV3 they are also working on.

A wing I think

DH88 fin.

Fuselage, well you can just see it.

Cockpit area.

Some small parts.

One of the engines.

"A wing I think "

I don't recall the Comet having a delta wing, so it's more likely to be the horizontal stabiliser.

Thanks for posting the photos, Andrew.

nice piccies Andrewman, was at Derby myself last Wednesday as part of an airfield touring holiday and thanks to the delightful Tara from the flying club,I too had a sneaky-peak at "Black Magic".From what I remember the chap working on the aircraft reckoned about 5 years before first flight....now imagine it lined up alongside "Grosvener House"

Imagine it FLYING alongside Grosvenor House...

I can recall this project started at Chirk in the late 70s, and suffered a fire setback - great to see it so far along.
