Nice, looks like a fun day! Late '60s I'd say. I recognise Cobby Moore's Gipsy Moth and is that a Whitney Straight?

Can I interest anyone in our PA-28R in for an annual service in the early 80's. I'm finding old photos and hope to unearth some more of this event.

Treadigraph hi, any idea whether Cobby Moire is still active? He gave me my first flight in his Proctor when I was all of 11 years old. At the time I believe he was living in an old Jaguar car parked next to the redundant control tower near the Fairflight hangar at Biggin.

I spy Bill Knaptons Cub being pushed backwards, John Adams Jungman (I think) as well, many happy hours spent at VSCC events at Finmere, no H & S worries in those days.

Brokenlink, as far as I know he's still around, he'd be mid-80s now. He pranged the Procter at a strip in Kent a few years ago, sustaining quite serious injuries in the process - I'd guess he ate a panel sandwich - but was apparently going to get on with rebuilding it.

He was always around whenever I visited Biggin, never offered me a ride though :-( !

Pretty certain he was sitting at the next table to us in the Dog and Bell at Deptford about 15 years ago; certainly looked like him.

Great photos, Jerbourg. What is the prop airliner between the BAF Viscount and the Air UK F27 in the first image? I'm guessing the Britannia 737s and the 1-11 in the second pic were Jersey diversions?

If you mean the aircraft by the tower, the middle one is a Shorts SD330, in front is a Dan Air HS748.
The 737's & 1-11 were charter flights for Guernsey.

Hi again Jerbourg, The aircraft in the first pic I was wondering about is the one partially obscuring the terminal. Looks like a Viscount or a 748, with a cheat line extending up the tail?

Re: post #444 titled "Il62, airshow, England". This is most definitely not England, but is Prestwick! It clearly shows the old hangar base between the ATC tower and the "bomber pads" near (what were?) the 31 / 21 thresholds. For many years, this old hangar base was used as the staff car park for Atc staff. The hill in the background is "Pisgah Hill". Sorry for the late correction, this is the first time I've looked at this forum.
