Lands End to John O'Groats

Does anyone know who was the first ever person to fly from Lands End to John O'Groats?
Also the date, what plane they flew, the route they took etc.

Tried the net but nothing has come up.
Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Rudds

The first helicopter flight was a Sea King of 826NAS, which winched a sack of mail down at J O'G. Still have the envelope somewhere! That was around mid 1970, IIRC, and (probably) flown by the CO, Noel Unsworth.
