Aerial Transit Company

There is a fascinating article in this weeks New Scientist (11 Oct) about a pioneering Airline.

The "Aerial Transit Company" was formed to operate long haul international air services and to "Convey passengers, troops and government dispatches to China and India." Why wasn't it successful? Well, the year was 1843................
