Changes to Qantas Group Testing
Someone told me that all Qantas Group online testing exam has moved to a proctored (supervised) platform , using webcam & software etc
First to use this new platform will be internals trying to move to QF Mainline Perhaps somebody could confirm Likely will make it all a larger Challenge |
|
So what graduate genius in the ‘campus’ came up with this solution to a problem that doesn’t exist? No wonder so many Aussie pilots are leaving for the US.
|
All our problems started when HR took over something they know nothing about.
|
Interesting, the latest bunch I am aware of are using the SHL exams, nothing proctored.
I really can't see this being a larger challenge to candidates, I haven't heard of anyone getting others to sit exams for them... it's just a safer bet to study aptitude stuff before hand. ...Will QG use webcams to determine who gets a gig based on who appears to be the LEAST pissed off candidate as they try and figure out if it is Craig, Lucy, Kate or Michael driving the blue car? Further, weren't internals told a while back that they weren't going to have to do online testing to put in for Mainline? |

So it’s just the standard aptitude and psych testing that’s been done for decades now being done remotely? You’ll find a lot of recruitment for similar roles and industries is done this way, primarily a cost saving measure, but it’s the same principle.
Applications for mainline positions were 4-5 times the likely numbers needed, so how else do you choose the ones you employ? It’s not an enviable task but this new online testing is basically the same hoop almost all current pilots jumped through to get where they are. |
So you could be A320 captain at Network or B717 Captain at NJS, fail the testing at mainline to be a SO! ,but the go back to being a Captain in the group? Can’t they just look at their files in the group and make the decision?
|
You can keep complaining about testing or just knuckle down and get over it….like everyone before you has done. Good luck if you planned on someone else doing it for you. Many have been caught out at the verification stage..embarrassing.
Internals at Link and JQ have been sent testing this month. |
All I can say is this woke pseudo corporate communist country can go f..k itself! I think every pilot should just leave... |

Far out fellas, I sat down with a cup of coffee and knocked it out as best I could, still managed to pass it. Don’t know why you’re all so worried about it.
|
I think you'll find it's not so much the testing itself. More the fact that nearly everyone got offered testing before internals did. No one expected that. Then even if you make it through the hoops and get the job, you'll be held hostage by your current Q group employer for potentially years, to then join at the bottom of a very long seniority list when they see fit. The only people the Q group treat worse than their passengers are their staff. No respect at all. The least they could do is offer a seniority number to internals when they get the job. There is so much hatred within the group by the staff and rubbish like this is just another pineapple inserted.

Winding you lot up is my second favourite past time
|
Shouldn’t this be in the QF recruitment thread?….oh wait, they’re debating about TAF3’s there
|
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of my recorded exam? I'd love to know how many times I said F#$%!

So morno, from what you’ve posted here, it seems we may get to share a flight deck one day soon! I’ll even let you be the Sky God for the day! |

you’ll be held for years while externals get seniority above you. Good luck making a captain at QF if you’re over 30 and get hired fiiiinally in three years time. Yeah, some internals, covid aside, waited two to three years. Subsids like network will trickle one per month at best, if they have their own pilot bases filling, which they don’t and won’t any time soon, just to dangle that carrot in front of you. Just jump to VA or USA. At least they have negotiations. Not ultimatums. |

This comment is incredibly accurate. Good luck to any internals wishing to go to QF.
