JQ to CBR

About bloody time!

Rex terminal decline articles will be out shortly.

Interesting, QF always kept JQ out of CBR, even when TT flew there.. airfares there have always been artifically inflated.

I fail to see how Jetstar flying from Canberra to Brisbane has anything to do with Rex.

This is great news for QF group, keep swooping in and tightening Rex noose.

Sharpie will be out and about claiming Alan and Co is trying to box them into a corner. Jetstar has only launched Canberra because we did blah blah blah we now can no longer expand because of all this competition, and our operation is now at risk.

I think it’s squarely aimed at Rex, and knowing Jetstar other capitals and leisure markets will follow one they have the equipment in place to service their aircraft. If they had started initially competing direct routes with Rex it wouldn’t look good in the eyes of the ACCC.

Rex won’t have the ability to complain about the government not using the cheapest flight option anymore either.

I agree, unless QF somehow got word that Rex was planning BNE-CBR, in which case this move would gazump Rex's announcement and not make it look like QF/JQ was entering a new market to cripple Rex, or maybe to deter Rex from entering BNE-CBR and make them look elsewhere? Rex has said it was working on BNE as its next capital city so perhaps the plan was to announce BNE-SYD and BNE-CBR at the same time?

Guys your missing the point.

Rex jumps up and down and regardless if it’s related to them or not. Watch Sharp on his CAPA video calls, the lies he keeps peddling about his competitors are off the charts.

They had a whinge about capacity increases going on at the others, however once diving into the data, 90% of which was not even in markets Rex served.

Alan has put to bed many of the false claims coming out of that joint.

He will come out soon saying Alan is dropping Jetstar in because we are taking market share and Alan is trying to sink our ship. Gareth has said in the past on many occasions when asked about Canberra, they are not going in while Tiger was there. Now they are gone.

QF/JQ are just doing business, BNE-CBR using JQ which QF also do could create more tourism for the capital. Win win for people that couldn't afford to fly QF now may be able to see CB using JQ. JS was offering these same opportunity ML-SY-ML etc in all his pressers saying they're more affordable etc. Great work QF group send the red tail and orange Star to every port possible.

Not really good news as the less Airlines the less jobs . Including QF group as the bigger their monopoly the bigger will be their aircraft meaning less jobs for all.

Not necessarily bigger aircraft. Sadly 717s and E190s are the future of any expansion.
