But when you want/need to come back, are you going to demand to jump the queue (~30,000?)?

I know what he said. So when a vaccine is available, he won't let you fly without it, but while there isn't one, he'll fly you anyway? So why bother waiting for a vaccine?
Because our government needs to be seen to be doing something? My friends, exercise caution whilst the first itterations of this vaccine come to market. Reuters Dec. 10 th: https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....6cfcfe8da8.png |

Thjis does not mean that I should not (As in international law have a right to leave at any time. |

How many of those 30,000 plus people on the list to come back left Oz once the government made it clear not to travel or were overseas when the government issued the warning to return to Oz immediately? The flights are there though few and expensive the problem for a lot of these people is they cannot afford or unwilling to pay the cost.
I wish people like you would stop regurgitating this stuff. The Govt did NOT issue warnings to all Australians living as expats overseas to return immediately. The "immediate return" thing pertained to leisure and business travellers. Expats were told to remain in place. Truly, do you recall the Aus Govt ordering all Australian pilots working for Emirates, Qatar or Cathay Pacific to immediately quit and return home? Just for one example. No, didn't think so. The vast, vast majority of these "30,000" are expats who have subsequently been sacked, run out of contract, visas etc. How many left Aus AFTER the warning? Probably close to zero. For heavens sake, start thinking, man. Stop with this persistent nonsense. And have a bloody heart. |

Need to pack up a home, close a life off, get ready to start again. Then only to be kicked in the nuts by the ridiculous caps causing $$$$$$$$$ airfares, oh check out the cost of containers to move home, I’ve had mates tell me what the all in costs are. Show a little compassion and don’t believe everything mainstream media reports! |
A friend and her husband were in the Philippines in February when the fit hit the shan. Internal flights were stopped instantly, so they could not get from their island back to Manila to come home. Their return ticket for April got cancelled, no refund until 2021. They had an opportunity to buy another ticket in May, laid out the money, it too got cancelled, no refund. No job back here in Oz to give them money, rent still due on their home here, no job over there, still had to pay for accommodation there, 2 tickets down the gurgler... no fun. Finally got home in November.
No fault of theirs at all. |
