QF37 MEL-SIN orbits over Port Phillip Bay

QF37 MEL-SIN orbits over Port Phillip Bay now. VH-EBS. Not going anywhere. No sign of fuel dump, undercarriage down.

I heard that there is about to be an AD out for the left hand Thales Thronomister. Watch this space.

wheels_down 26th Jan 2020 06:48

I wonder if the skipper will ask the poor terrified punters to pray?

CurtainTwitcher 26th Jan 2020 06:49

Pretty sure the A330 doesn't have a jettison system...

Nice pic though

Cunning_Stunt 26th Jan 2020 06:50

Quick! Call A320ECAM!! He’ll know what to do... turn everything off and on again.

Jerr 26th Jan 2020 06:53

Looks like it’s landing shortly

Do not panic, the crew are in contact with Geoffrey Thomas!

If it was the left one they could only do right hand turns in the Southern Hemisphere.

I thought that got fixed with the FADEC H2F9 upgrade? ANZ did the controlled entry into service.

I heard they were approaching duty limits so decided to hold and figure out what to do.

The same punters that Channel 7 will pick to interview when they land!
I’m sure they deliberately seek out the most bogan passengers to interview for the news!

Thanks curtain twitcher- I’ve loads more as he was orbiting over bayside and i have a ginormous lens. I would have cropped it but I’m still getting my head around the latest photoshop. No fuel dump? Surely he had a chemtrail switch next to the mark4 thronomister, that would have worked.

Is there some way we can prevent the children above posting. Shouldn’t they be in bed by now

Weapons Grade 26th Jan 2020 10:01

Gear Down?

The picture shows the gear down - the questions should be:
a. Was the gear intentionally either selected down or not selected up (increase drag = increase in fuel flow); or
b. Gear was selected up but did not retract (gear pins not removed/stowed).

After rereading the intams and discovering fattys is closed for CNY they performed an air return.

There are lots of other reasons besides the pins why the gear on an A330 won’t retract.

Mafortion 26th Jan 2020 21:56

Pretty sure the A330 doesn't have a jettison system...”

It’s an option for the 330... Qantas didn’t take it though, as the aircraft is certified to land at up to MTOW in emergency situations.
