QANTAS - A380 - VH-OQH 21st Dec at KLAX
A380, VH-OQH which has just returned to service from heavy maintenance in Dresden, Germany, (non-stop to Sydney - 8709NM) has flown to Los Angeles and appears to have departed for Sydney but has returned and entered into a hold at KLAX for some time before landing...
Just out of maintenance ? |

Just out of maintenance ? Dresden is used for the fitout of the new cabin. Abu Dhabi is used for heavy maintenance. Don't try to make it sound like it returned due to shoddy maintenance in Germany, when that's not even the reason it was there. |
I do know that it returned from Dresden with many issues. I believe that there was an attempt to keep it out of service to rectify some or all of those problems in Sydney. That was overruled. |
I did thank you, interesting reading. |
unontanium, cravenmorehead, others at el,
Reporting something that is transmitted on USA TV networks, likewise in Australia, does not make a person an aircraft spotter. What we have established so far is, thanks to 'dragon man' the aircraft was returned to service with defects probably covered by the MEL, regardless over ruled by whom? management? We have also established there is every chance possibly that 'street garbage' (an apt name) and 'dragon man' are possibly QF employees? whom may possibly have accessed Elog books illegally and with out authorisation. There would be guidelines as to when an employee can access same in the course of their duty. Don't resort to name calling, it is at worst an attempt to cover up the poor state of QF aircraft. In flight turn backs are not taken lightly, and not done for fun... there was clearly a serious event that warranted annoying the first class and business class passengers. |

You obviously don't know anything about elogbook. Who has access to it? Only Qantas Management? Illegal? Without authorisation? LMAO |
Unlike EBC this airframe is not ex-Jetstar and so someone will have to cop whatever is going down on the chin.

Given the bucket load of comments on other threads about the outsourcing of A380 heavy maintenance I think it's reasonable for someone to track what is actually happening. I can't understand the levels of abuse either............... good job it's Christmas otherwise they might have really foamed over.

Could not have been too serious? It’s back in Sydney! Another day in the life of an airliner. :}

Duct leak at 400' after takeoff, ACM shutdowns...dumped 80,000 Kg of fuel, correct procedures for the problems, just follow SOPs...

Helps to get the facts straight.

Abu Dhabi is used for heavy maintenance and reconfigs of the cabin. Oh and Dresden has also been used for heavy maintenance and reconfigs. |
