Beat up about tamworth

Seems to me that the stories have little, if any, real merit and there are agendas at play. Describing Tamworth as a major air base and predicting that the Chinese hordes are about to over run the joint with commie spies seems a little over the top and frankly a bit odd. And this website keeps giving the reporter oxygen. Did someone not get an invitation to “the club”? |
It's interesting that the non-Australian airline, Virgin Australia, has managed to pay and company tax due losses [real or fabricated]....

The whole proposal was just a reaction to Qantas announcing its academy plans. The result of all this will be Oxford relocating most of the Moorabin operation to Tamworth and continuing merrily along with a lower cost base.

There’s just a lot of anti-Chinese sentiment being expressed through the media at the moment. This is one way to capitalise on it. I’ve seen ads from Clive Palmer that claimed the China Southern training school in Merredin is going to be used as a backdoor for an invasion of Australia. The way this Tamworth airport story is presented you’d think the Chinese military will be basing combat aircraft there. |

And not to let a few facts ruin a good story. Tamworth has not hosted a RAAF base since the end of 1944!!!!…. Anyway Tamworth Regional Council will be more than a match for any Chinese school!!!!

Meanwhile, a locally owned flying school and Charter operator is about to find themselves homeless in TMW because the TRC can't get out of their own way to make a decision about the 2 empty hangars - they're more interested in keeping their options open for QF and VirginCAE/Oxford than looking after existing employers in the city. |

For you people who are from other area's and not in the know the ratepayers of this council are sick and tried of the lies and BS that are coming out of the mayor and mismanager.. I mean CEO of this council. This is the same mob that have spent millions on upgrades so some outfit can fly international airfreight out of the place in a 737!!!!. Horatio the hanger deal is no surprise having be involved with them and the same hanger rot when they first took over the airport.

Alphabetically "arrogance" and "greed" come to mind before "incompetence" when TRC comes up in conversation! The way they have treated Eastern/Q-link defies belief. Tamworth has a major quality employer with an impeccable pedigree investing back into the community as a responsible corporate citizen over decades, yet TRC treats them with utter disrespect. It is unfortunate, but not surprising in the least that you would be treated with disdain! |
