Qantas to cancel Boeing orders in favour of Airbus
In breaking news Qantas is to cancel all outstanding Boeing orders in favour of Airbus after Australian government imposes retaliatory 25% tariff on commercial airliners produced in the USA. The Australian government said the action was a response to the Trump decision to impose a similar tariff on imports of steel and aluminium into the US and renege on a deal to not impose such tariffs on Australian producers. More to come.

Lot of steel and aluminium exported from Aus to US.........................

25 days early.
If QF were a government airline it may have happened though depending on what the break clauses were. |
Thanks Keg - you're on to it.

Actually, thinking about it, a 300% tax on Boeing aircraft, to match the US tax on Canadian Bombardier jets would be more appropriate.

Yeah not going to happen. Even if it does QF hardly have any outstanding Boeing orders...... just 4 787 left

This thread, a great example of how to bounce rumours around. Better than tennis.

Fixed that for you, do try to keep up (the duty on Bombardier was thrown out over a month ago)
In return Boeing will soon announce 51% of Embraer. |
