Nasty business.......

Bah. Typical winter flying conditions in northern Europe:}

At least they made the right decision - eventually...

Melbourne media just using old footage then. Was some pretty ordinary conditions in MEL today though. Only 100,000 houses without power.. Just trying to top South Australia's effort!

Nah, they normally avoid the pod strikes in WLG

Yeah nah, the Welliwood wind is invariably almost always down the strip....it's the rotor that's the problem in Welliwood...

Not that I don't believe you, but do you have some info to back your claim up?

Approaching late afternoon/evening going off Sun position as it's 34 arrival.

Video posted at lunchtime.

On the weather front it wasn't wet this morning as there are puddles over the road not to mention it wasn't completely overcast today.

It was from last year 5/5/15

The biggest giveaway is the brown grass -- Melbourne hasn't been so green for years, it ain't brown

"crosswind landing" - I was looking for him to land on a really really short, really really wide runway.....

Turnleft080 10th Oct 2016 05:39

Would of been a nice day to go flying. About 6 or 7 go arounds/windshear escape maneuvers. Highest wind reading gusted to 57 kts.
