"TiggOz"

Bye Bye Go-Cat - hello "TiggOz" callsign from 1 April. April Fools? Should be.

TGG - Tiggoz :D

Who comes up with this stuff.

IsDon 20th Mar 2016 17:14

As a Pooh Bear fan as a child, and as a father with young children who still watch it, I have to say what all must be thinking.

"Bouncing is what Tiggers do best!"

Does this apply to landings?

This can't possibly be serious. I guess it could have been thought up by some pimple faced gen Y marketing genius like the one that came up with "Velocity" as a call sign.

Please save us from these twits.

Snakecharma 20th Mar 2016 21:00

Velocity was decided upon by flight ops management when Airservices decided they could not use Virgin any longer as it belonged to Virgin Atlantic.

Not a lot of options when you think about it...

So no pimply faced marketing genius anywhere near that one. As for all the multi syllable generated disasters, I don't think there has been any that I am aware of.

TwoFiftyBelowTen 20th Mar 2016 22:54

I thought that TiggOz was to be used for certain operations....perhaps short-haul international eg. Bali.
I don't think it's the end of the "Go-Cat" callsign

Sounds like your Flight Oops department could use an imagination injection. That's, seriously, the best they could come up with?

continueapproach737 21st Mar 2016 00:09

Given air services give's you three options before they approve you can imagine what the others were

Snakecharma 21st Mar 2016 00:33

Over to you Isdon, what would you have gone with?

flamingmoe 21st Mar 2016 00:47

I don't know what was wrong with "VeeOz".

halas 21st Mar 2016 01:33

Tiggoz?

Whats wrong with "Pussy"?

Ooohhhh there's nothing wrong with "Pussy".

As for the alternatives to "Verbosity" I like VOz as well. Given the penchant for pretty girls, how about "Diva"? Although probably "Bimbo" would be a better fit.

Now that's just giving it a few seconds thought. Obviously a lot more than Virgin Flight Oops Management did.

Pussy Stripe
Virgin Pussy
Pussy Cat
Purrfect Pussy
Go Pussy
Yellow Pussy

But I never would have thought of using the word 'Tiger', well done team.

PoppaJo 21st Mar 2016 06:19

It's for BALI flights only.

The Indonesian Regulators won't be impressed if a Tiger branded 737 rocks up calling up they are Velocity. No idea how this Tiger 737 thing got off the ground considering it's from the VAI AOC and Virgin Pilots.

Remember the Pacific Blue regulatory dramas years back into DPS!

Wind up. It's GO CAT 1.
