Brisbane - Albury direct this winter ?

just heard a rumour that someone might be doing this route direct for 1st time.

Guess it's hard to get from BNE to ABX having to either go via MEL or SYD & then all TP's from SYD/MEL, which must push the cost up.

Going Nowhere 12th Feb 2016 05:52

Jetgo possibly?

TwoFiftyBelowTen 12th Feb 2016 09:32

"....RUMOUR that someone MIGHT....."

Hmmmmmmmmm. Why do we bother?

XPT 12th Feb 2016 22:24

told it was happening now, just don't have details.

Ejector 23rd Feb 2016 06:07

Anymore developments please ?

onehitwonder 23rd Feb 2016 06:14

yeah Jetgo

Nulli Secundus 26th Feb 2016 09:30

Really?

With just three airframes on the CASA register?

onehitwonder 27th Feb 2016 02:35

yeah but how much flying are three airframes doing?

Best of luck to em

Nulli Secundus 27th Feb 2016 09:50

Best of luck to them.

But don't get too excited. Way back on Jan 6 the company announced they were going to announce a new city pair. Still today - nothing. Far from a mortal sin, but don't expect the investment community to be impressed either.

Ned Stark 27th Feb 2016 15:51

I've heard only 2 airframes now.

cabin40 28th Feb 2016 11:01

Theres photos of one ERJ with parts missing parked up at brisbane, not enough spares or cash to buy spares?

Going Nowhere 29th Feb 2016 10:54

http://services.casa.gov.au/airworth...2011-11-01.pdf

It says to be carried out with 48 months of 30 Nov 2011. The aircraft last flew Feb 8.

Do CASA give extentions to these AD's on occasion?

Ned Stark 29th Feb 2016 16:10

I'd say yes because the erj wouldn't get him to Tasmania.

Nulli Secundus 29th Feb 2016 19:21

The aircraft last flew Feb 8.

How does an airline:

  • make money with 33.3% of the fleet aog for 3 weeks?
  • service its three 'routes' with only two aircraft?
Are we still hypothesising Jetgo is the likely operator for Albury - Brisbane?

Going Nowhere 29th Feb 2016 19:48

Nulli,

Provided one of the other 2 doesn't go U/S then it works. One based in BNE & one based in TSV.

They had VH-JGB on the ground at Perth for 8 weeks towards the end of last year. When it came back they started the Townsville-Rocky-Gold Coast run. You have to maintain them (I'm only assuming that's what it was in Perth for) but you're right, it's a pretty tight operation with only three aircraft.

BTW JGB is the only one of the three that has ADS-B. I think they might be the only RPT jets in the country that still don't have it. Must have been able to get a dispensation. Yeah I know, only spotters care about this stuff. I've been lurking here for years without saying anything and I still won't be saying a lot but I do enjoy reading your forum particularly to get an industry slant on some of the crap the media writes about aviation (as well as most other topics). Cheers.

XPT 1st Mar 2016 05:26

just told that not Jetgo, but interest is fading fast, due to lack of support.

Horatio Leafblower 1st Mar 2016 08:43

Corporate Air have finally forayed into RPT despite holding an RPT Certificate for years - good on them.

...long way in a SAAB though:eek:

XPT 1st Mar 2016 23:22

we were told it was to be operated by a jet not a Saab. The mystery deepens.

BAE 146 BK Ops later in 2016 ?

Any idea which company are planning Southery Closed Charter Ops out of Bankstown using those 2 x BAE 146s later on this yr ?

Horatio Leafblower are you in the know with this at this stage

All we heard thus far is that they are wreaks left over from the Vincent / Skyforce Washups

Skyforce was planning CS - POM freight missions utilising 2 x BAE 146 - 100s till it all went South last yr :(

Horatio Leafblower 2nd Mar 2016 11:19

DutyofCare I know nothing, I am speculating.

The emergence of Corporate into the RPT market was a huge surprise to many, including self. There seems to be a great many surprising things occurring in the Aviation industry at the moment.

146's out of Bankstown would surely be weight restricted. The ex Titan, Skyforce 146's were 146-200QC's if not mistaken.

Corporate were in the RPT market many years ago. :ugh:

....yes, I was aware they had an RPT AOC but if they have operated RPT in the past, they haven't shown much interest in the last 15 years.

:ugh: to you too.

XPT 14th Mar 2016 02:58

now hear there's 2 airlines looking at ABX/BNE or OOL.

Hope they don't shoot each other in the foot.

BNEA320 10th Jul 2016 23:02

Jetgo's BNE/ABX new services have been operating for 3 weeks now. Anyone know how they're going ?

Their lead in fares are cheaper than almost anything via SYD.

Bankstown Boy 12th Jul 2016 02:00

was flying out of Armidale on the weekend and noticed that Corporate Air had shiny new signs for their BNE - ARM flights starting on 1 Aug.

Good to see something new in this sad, sad industry.

Hope they do well.

From all accounts they are booked solid, but what do I know Craig, why dont you just call Paul or Jason and ask ?

Ned Stark 13th Jul 2016 19:06

You'd hardly get an honest answer from the latter of the 2

joe raposa 15th Jul 2016 11:05

BNEA320
According to those watching the pax boarding to BNE from ABX there has only been two empty seats since commencement of operations, and due to QF cancelling a flight, they were snapped up at $600 each....
