Jetstar now all 787

Jetstar from today has only 787's on it long haul fleet, with the last a330 (VH-EBE) completing it's last flight before it moves over to Qantas Yesterday. Jetstar has now also received all 11 787's it had on order. Does anyone know it Jetstar/Qantas are going add any additional aircraft to the Jetstar fleet in the future, with the 787-9's going to Qantas i am guessing no expansion for Jetstar long haul in the near future?

Plus, is the rumour true about delaying/deferring the A320 NEO deliveries? Have they been cancelled??

Rumours of A320/321 for mainline keep popping up.
But that has been the case for about 15 years!!

If and its a big if and that is Qantas are obligated to take the 100 odd Neos that were ordered for Jetstars overseas adventures that are not happening then you would think the most logical place is Qantas domestic. It's probably so logical it won't happen!

Skystar320 26th Sep 2015 09:46

What happened with all the A320 that run domestically / international. Must be a huge reduction!

SandyPalms 26th Sep 2015 23:53

Very strong rumours about most of them going to mainline. Mostly in the form of A321.

domo 27th Sep 2015 01:42

Heard they looking at a321 due 737 takes too long to load cargo not quick enough for the reduced turn times

No reflection on the individuals on the floor at all, but I certainly hope JQ maintain the 787 better than they did the "borrowed" A330's.

The 330's returning to mainline are invariably right sh1t boxes, EBE #2 engine fuel leak saga also not a good look.

An AD compliance inspection item not picked up on culminating in a 220kg/hour increased fuel burn that was repetitively "penned off" until it could be ignored no longer, fuel pissing out of the cowls a bit of a give away.

Smoking hole in the ground stuff right there.:ugh:

The lowest bidder of course.

QF maintenance has always been the controlling body for the 330.
787 are JQ so will probably be a better standard if your post is accurate

LeeJoyce 28th Sep 2015 07:19

QF replaced the fuel manifold after it came in to mel with fuel pouring out of 2, i didn't see it i was on another gate, but apparently it was significant.

then last flight out of mel it returned to bay

though it'd never leave.

Spinner I tell no lies nor do I distort the facts.

Correct, maintenance controlled by QF but carried out by JQ or their third party providers save for heavy which is done by QF in BNE.

Not sure what you mean by the second statement, JQ's line maintenance (read scheduled servicing and not transiting maintenance) is carried out by a third party (KORR) albeit controlled by JQ.
