Well... if you click on the link it says

Do I need to add a 'rolls eyes' emoticon?

Or mention that it was perhaps the Thronomister?

Or berate the standard of journalists reporting on such a trivial matter?

Or tell everyone to perhaps "Wait for the report"

...and then sarcastically whinge that it will take three years for it to come out.

But it's OK to speculate because that's what us professionals does!

Oldest A320 operating in this part of the world, 93' build.

Probaly has a bit to do with it, seems to be tech a fair bit..

I flew this one in a previous life and it was an old piece of crap then, I am astounded it is still flying. When I was flying it Airbus was paying my airline to keep it in the air as they are using it as a test airframe for airframe life.

Virgin is the 36th User of this particular aircraft!

It was even with Virgin Atlantic in the early 90's

Having been involved with this aircraft from very early on in it's life, I would like to provide a clarification if I may. While Airfleets shows that the aircraft has had 36 operators this is not completely correct. The aircraft has operated for 36 Airlines while under the control of two airlines from both an operational and maintenance perspective. The first was Transaer from 1993 to 1999 and the second was Airtours which through takeovers and mergers became part of the Thomas Cook group from 2000 to 2010. During the period from 1993 to 2010 the aircraft was fully controlled by these particular airlines on their respective AOC's and Maintenance programs.

So to sum up, only 2 pimps but 36 clients?

Havn't seen it for a long time so just wondering "did they ever replace the left hand engine Thrust recovery nozzle ??

They probably did, about the time they installed the MK36B Thronomister, replaced the Blue hydraulic system back-flush reverse-linkage arm and overhauled the Power Transfer Unit Noise-Amplifier. :E

Maybe if they really need A320s to operate some of their western regional routes, they could pick up some ex NZ 320s? OJA will be looking for an new home once the NEO come.

They all went to Chinese and Hong Kong carriers.

Never mind three years .... the final report ( AO-2015-107) is now in Final Approval phase and due for Dissemination this quarter.
Current information infers that this could be worth reading.
