Tiger to Bali
Its no great secret but the Tiger mobile site is showing fares from AD, PH and ML to Bali. You cant find Bali in the booking engine only on the fares special front page. Is this a slip ahead of the anouncement? Im also guessing viz A320 range that ML is via AD/PH.

will Tiger take over some of VA/NZ thin routes ?
Tiger were in AKL not long ago, apparently talking about slots. My guess, is they are going to take over thin VA/NZ trans-Tasman routes & maybe open some others.
Think as part of NZ/VA trans-tasman Alliance, they can't reduce services or seats, but they would probably be allowed to swap TT for VA or NZ metal. |
I think you'll find it's actually Scoot to Singapore, then Tiger Singapore to Denpasar.
At least when I had a fiddle with the Perth to Bali flights that's what it gave me. morno |
No it was defintiely not meant to be there. $179 AD to DPS is not with Scoot. I took a screen grab just for laughs. When is the AGM :D

Care to post the screenshot?

Would if I could but technology is getting the better of me (page crashes when I go to add an attachment). Youll just have to believe me

TT to Bali + more - it's happening
Virgin sheds flights to Bali and Thailand as international losses mount
& what are increased trans-tasman services ? & why were TT in AKL looking for slots not long ago ? AKL/DPS is too far for a 180 seat A320, unless doing a splash & dash somewhere or maybe doing something like AKL/TSV/DPS. Aren't JQ reviving TSV/DPS nonstop ? |
I wonder how the Tigerair pilots feel about this big announcement....
|
Tiger will be leasing 737s of Virgin until the A320 NEO arrives.
Let me repeat, until the NEO arrives. Then they go back to Virgin. Virgin pilots, same deal. Just all economy, no bells and whistles. |
so will there be a 738 in Tiger colours or just a small decal at front door ?
|
The email indicates 3 737s in complete Tiger livery with Tiger cabin crew and VAI pilots. All economy config as per current Tiger 320 setup. Final service in Virgin colours is on 22 March 16 from MEL ADL PER. From then Tiger brand. Indicates that there is sufficient premium demand from Sydney, Brisbane, and Port Hedland(!?!) to continue Virgin with Bussiness etc.
If Tiger ever do operate these services in their own right I do wonder if Tiger will have to go through the same costly messy process of splitting their operation in two to satisfy the ownership problem thrown up by the Indonesians. That must have cost Virgin alot of money and obviously with the commercial pressure of Jetstar, AirAsia, and Garuda all operating widebodies it doesn`t add up. Virgin operating last flight from Phuket on 31 Jan 16 and withdrawing completely. |
Well good on Virgin for keeping the flying of the Tiger 737's with the Virgin pilots as opposed to what Qantas did with the Jetstar 330's.
I hope it stays that way. |
It's only temporary Beer Baron, Virgin have just deferred the future delivery of 17 x 737's. Tiger is Virgins Jetstar, it was only a matter of time.
If you want a command in the Virgin Group, join Tiger. |

Why anybody would want to add services to Bali is beyond me given the current disruption and the bath that JQ/VA are taking there.
Add to that no insurance cover into an active volcano zone...... |
BNEA320 care to share how you know Tiger were in Auckland talking slots? However yes, whether that means actual flights is along way off.. There was this gem a few months ago: http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/n...ectid=11432607 |
17 NG's converted to Max's Basil,order now 40 airframes starting in 2018
|
there are plenty of thin & loss making trans-tasman routes that tiger could take over. That said, Tiger don't have enough aircraft which is why they are taking some VA 738's, repainting them, but not sure who will crew them. Perhaps some VA drivers can enlighten us all.
|
As stated above, Virgin International pilots will crew them.
|
yes but which VA pilots ? Newbys ?
