A380, QF11 to LA delayed 9th Dec
"Mechanical issues" on another A380, Supposedly be fixed by 7.30pm.
3rd problem with them in 2 days! Not an issue with Maintenance by Luthansa. According to Qantas PR they are the best in the world for maintenance. Wasn't so long ago Qantas was the world leader in maintenance!! Joycie still living on the safety record of the past, saying Qantas has one of the lowest turnback rate of any airline. Sorry Joycie - any other airlines have 3 turnbacks in the last 24 hours? |
Lets not forget the unscheduled and lengthy visit of VH-OQJ to the Melbourne hangar recently (last week).
Good job these new aircraft don't need any maintenance! :ok: |
p.j.m.
Did Qantas sack you or something? |
pusillanimous,
Has Qantas Employed you? Angel Alert! |

NEWSFLASH!!! FLIGHT DELAYED BY FEW HOURS!!!!!!
Is this really news?? How many times does this happen EVERY DAY?? p.j.m, I heard a flight attendant dropped a packet of peanuts on a Qantas flight today. Would you mind contacting the press and holding the front page. I'll standby for your new PPRuNe thread devoted to the 'incident'. |
Well sometimes, a packet of nuts can make the news. Maybe macadamia nuts are more an issue than peanuts?

Is this really news?? How many times does this happen EVERY DAY?? Under Joycie, all thats happened is we pay a premium for a sub-standard service, and he gets lots of bonuses. Anyway, no longer a problem for me, Since I've been flying SIA and AirNZ, I've had NONE of the shenanigans that Qantas are constantly pulling. |
Seriously??? A premium airline shouldn't have mechanical issues?
ALL airlines have mechanical issues from time to time. If you want to fly on something that never has any mechanical issues get a magic carpet, or some other mythical mode of transport. A premium airline should be able to recover the situation and get the passengers to their destination in a reasonable timeframe or appropriately accommodate them until that point. In the instance you point to Qantas did just that. As you have pointed out many times, you choose not to fly Qantas, yet you are oddly consumed by their perceived failings. Instead you fly on SIA and AirNZ, well believe it or not, they also have mechanical issues and turn backs from time to time. Even though they are premium airlines!! Hard to believe I know, so here are a few examples; SIA A380 air turnback 2014: Singapore Airlines A380 forced to turn back mid-flight - CNN.com SIA air turnback 2014 due air-con fault (sounds familiar): Singapore Airlines jet returns to Changi due to faulty aircon | The Indian Express SIA A380 air turnback 2012: Singapore Airlines A380 turns back after engine problem | Reuters AirNZ AKL- HNL air turnback 2014: Air NZ flight forced to turn back | Stuff.co.nz AirNZ AKL- SFO air turnback 2014: Engine trouble forces Air NZ flight to turn back - News - Travel - smh.com.au AirNZ MEL - AKL air turnback 2014: 'Rocky flight' before Air NZ emergency landing | SBS News |

Yes all majors have issues but it is QF who have traded on past standards, cut to the bone, trashed customer relationships and paid or accrued HUGE Exec bonuses while asking staff to cut their pay and then bleat like kids when they get challenged. These are mostly minor issues but seemingly now consistent atleast in the last few days. They have attracted this attention on themselves not the staff, not the media and certainly not the passengers.
You guys sure Abbott doesn't have a long lost brother at QF. |
How about we report on real news, and not dull fluff pieces?
