Singapore Airlines NZAA 30/8
 

A friend has just rung me to say she was outbound Auckland for Singapore last night and they heard a noise ( she didn't say what kind) and then sat on the runway for nearly two hours before getting off at the gate and being put in a hotel.
It strikes me as strange that they sat on the runway. Maybe they didn't and she just thought they were on the runway. Anyone know any more ?

I know the sound of "click" on this rubbish should be on the way.

Runway, taxiway, all the same to some people.

Very much doubt they'd close the airport for two hours just to let them sit on the runway.

I'd say getting off in two hours not a bad effort by the time the issue has been discussed with engineering, a decision made as to what to do, a spare gate is found and staff arranged to process the pax, arrange transport to the hotel etc etc.

Fark sake...really :ugh:
