Seems that JQ are only focused on the 787. They now have H101 yet they send an A330 to JHAS H145 for a 2 day film shoot and continue to put AOG A320's into JHAS without using H101.

This mob in MOC are full of great ideas
GH is back. What a 'legend'. Whoops, was just thinking of his brother.

Jethro Gibbs 13th Aug 2013 09:14

Denis Napthine Victorian Premier today stated .
100 jobs at new Melb Jetstar base. "We are the jobs engine-room of the Australian economy .
No mention of the around 800 Qantas Melbourne and Avalon jobs lost :ugh::mad:

I guess the Melbourne fire brigades had better get up to speed on lithium battery fires and explosions then.....

Bumpfoh 13th Aug 2013 11:02

No surprises here.

TL email worded in such a way that H141 was given up due to a lack of "planned" maintnenace as identified by MOC.

Reality says something to the effect from senior management, J* need a wide body hangar so make it happen, VIC guvinmint giving us $$$$ to make it happen in MEL so see to it that that wide body hangar doesn't add up for QE MEL to keep it.

Don't mind so much as a strategic business decision being made at our expense, hey it not our train set after all, but being blatantly bullsh1tted to in person by a new manager just weeks after his appointment doesn't bode well for the future.

Guess the ex MEL heavy guys know this all too well!

Last time I shake that koonts hand!:=

Bagus 13th Aug 2013 11:22

The hundreds of jobs created are in management and cabin staff training not engineering as 787 does not require maintenance as AJ says.

Has Jetstar been given the use of the wide body hangar only?
Or have they been given a narrow body bay as well?
In Melbourne.

From my understanding they have emptied out the wide body hanger. All previous Qantas wing docking is gone.
They can now fit one wide body or multiple narrow body in the hanger.
As yet, they have NO access to the Qantas hanger 101 (narrow body). But give it time and that will surely change.

Mobi LAME 17th Sep 2013 21:30

Not good for NTL

There was an announcement that they are giving JHAS the big A at the end of the year and A320 A Checks will commence in the hangar with the help of Korr. Can't be looking too good for the troops at NTL.

fruitloop 18th Sep 2013 04:04

VicVector.
I recon that you are VERY close to the mark regards regards H 101..
Bays 4 and 5 ..

Jethro Gibbs 18th Sep 2013 05:15

Korr FFS ! They are Hopeless

aintsaying 18th Sep 2013 23:48

So narrow body bays 4 and 5 will be given to jetstar?
Were the heavy maint tail docks modified to accept A320 in early 2013?
And how many of the KORR guys, who got a free A320 rating a few months ago, are going into the Qantas hangars for Jetstar? 4?

fruitloop 26th Sep 2013 05:01

Korr to do the "A" checks ??? How does the regs regarding Part 145 under the EASA system now compare with the old Section 66 regards the number of contractors "allowed" to be utilized by a company.?... oppps did I mention some thing that was forgotten ??..

fruitloop 30th Sep 2013 01:48

The silence is deafening !!!

Gas Bags 30th Sep 2013 02:05

Fruitloop,

If you can show the regulation under the old or the new system regarding the number of contractors "allowed" to be utilized by a company it would be appreciated.

A link would be good.....
