Sydney Goaround

This morning at YSSY in the after 0600Z curfew rush a B744 had to perform a go around.
So far there haven't been any reports of passengers panicking, with "we thought we were going to die" concerns. Maybe our trusted journalists were jammed in the traffic and hadn't arrived at the airport in time?
However, all readers here may be pleased to know that the airborne B744 concerned, and neither the B777 lined up and ready on runway 16R and a late vacating aircraft, another B744, belonged to QF, making the incident not worth reporting.
Well, that's how I see it.

making the incident not worth reporting.
or wasting bandwidth on Prune?

What incident?

One minute you're talking about a normal procedure, now you say there was an incident?

Did the incident happen before or after the Go-around?

Quote: "This morning at YSSY in the after 0600Z curfew rush"

I think the above quote indicates this person's vast aviation knowledge!!!

I think Guglielmo has written a perfectly tongue-in-cheek, mocking of the quality of Australian journalism, and in particular the OCD with respect to QF. Heck, just this week they had an article about Sydney Airport ripping off all and sundry yet the photo was a QF 737 tail that took up 3/4 of the picture.

I laughed. :D

:ok:

Totally agree ramius315, the thread police have no 'sense of the ridiculous'. :E

Captain Gidday 2nd May 2013 09:14

I'm just amazed that there were two 747s within line of sight that were not QF.
These days, what are the odds of that happening!

Yawn

Ridiculous ****e. It is such a normal component of flying that it becomes as common as a wheel change. I can't believe "go around's" still make it on to Pprune, even if it is posted as a pisstake.

For all the Jouno's, uneducated passengers and those who masturbate over planes while parked beneath approach paths - Unstable approach, aircraft still on RWY, a witch on a broomstick hovering over the piano keys - Hit TOGA. Easy fix. End of story. Try again shortly.
May we never see a go around thread ever again!

End thread.
Click.

It would appear 'tongue-in-cheek' flies straight over your head.

Whilst on 'uneducated,' the words 'go-arounds' & 'journos' don't require apostrophes.

Lighten up, it was amusing (Shock, horror! Laugh at something?) and you're not perfect.

;)

my oleo is extended 2nd May 2013 11:27

The 'apostrophe' use has nothing to do with using grammar, or even if it is appropriate. I use them because I enjoy them. They add some flavour, I like the look of them, it's true! It's my light hearted approach to life!

And what did I hear you say - "I'm not perfect"?? Wow, never been told that before :E

Slasher 2nd May 2013 11:58

There's a curfew at Siddley after 0600Z in the morning?

Who towed KSA out to the Atlantic, and why is there a curfew way out there?

Howard Hughes 2nd May 2013 12:15

You forgot to mention the A-380 (with me in the back :{ ), that couldn't land until after curfew due to the downwind being to high!

Another serious case of people doing their job, surely that should be reported too! ;)

Guglielmo 2nd May 2013 12:35

Thank's Slasher, it took a number of hours and several other respondents to notice that the time quoted was labelled Z instead of K.
Captain Gidday, sadly the era of QF B744's is waning with operational frames now down to 16. In today's event (not incident) though the two B744's concerned did belong to the same operator.

Capn Bloggs 2nd May 2013 12:39

Ramius doesn't speak Australian otherwise he'd spot that Gugli was serious, but his pullup of Oleo is absolutely justified... Oleo, stop apostrophising the unapostrophisable! :}

PS: Just noticed this has been moved from R and N. Should have been moved to the WPB! :}
