Virgin Australia has announced plans to restructure its business to attract more foreign investment. Australia's second largest airline will create a separate unlisted international holdings company, Virgin Australia International Holdings, that will hold the company's international airlines and allow it to attract more offshore capital. You know they are getting desperate when they whinge to the referee because there was one time when they were so strong it didn't matter but now...... they are getting what they deserve with the way they treat staff, customers and the investing public. |
This is slightly off topic. But is it true that Virgin Australia operates a 777 from Abu Dhabi to Kuala Lumpur daily on behalf of Etihad?

At the rate Virgin are procuring aircraft, they'll never match Qantas domestically.

T VASI I believe Virgin were trying not to be the biggest airline in Oz but the airline of choice in Australia. But with some foreign capital it could easily be both!:D

The 110 A320s never were in addition to the status quo. Jetstar is a LCC and recycles their fleet before the costs of maintaining it catch up with them.
The A320s are replacements with a marginal capacity growth. I don't think there ever was a redq. Divide, confuse and conquer. |

i also heard a rumour that Virgin Australia is planning to fly to Singapore and Taiwan by the end of this year.

That will be a code share flight operated by SIA aircraft not VA metal.
