They must be desperate.

I recieved an email from bfound website advertising JStar positions. I havent been on that site for years.

Oakape 3rd Aug 2011 09:31

Thanks AH. No change on Rishworth's site.

Boomerang 3rd Aug 2011 10:11

Management are trying to get Tiger DECs in. Very disappointing move by both parties. Hopefully JPC will be successful in their plight...

Howard Hughes 3rd Aug 2011 11:33

Is it coincidental that they announce a major recruiting campaign when, there are potentially the number of pilots they are looking for, sitting around idol?

Or am I just becoming old and cynical?;)

Roller Merlin 3rd Aug 2011 11:34

This seems to be JQ just following their strategy to introduce more contracts and let the EBA wither on the vine. Ex Tiger DECs on contracts in addition to cadets and attempts to negotiate part-time contracts is all they need to plead to the Fed Court that "contracts have been and are already accepted by the existing pilot body..." then it will be a free for all with no seniority.

Howard...don't believe you are being cynical at all!! DECs leaving Tiger and thus robbing Tiger of necessary resources to rapidly resume ops would likely be a significant commercial strategy!

Jetstar flights cancelled after crew confusion - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Jetstar flights cancelled after crew confusion
Lucy McNally
Posted August 03, 2011 15:58:22

Jetstar says it was forced to cancel two flights between Darwin and Vietnam yesterday because the crew was needed on another plane.

Some of the 140 passengers affected have been redirected on flights through Singapore, while others were given a travel voucher and told to wait for the next flight tomorrow.

They were provided with hotel accommodation.

Jetstar described the problem as operational, saying it needed staff on another aircraft.

The budget airline would not provide further details.

It says the event is rare, with five such flights being cancelled in the last year.

waren9 4th Aug 2011 02:06

then it will be a free for all with no seniority
Its a free for all now, Roller. Seniority is only a "major consideration" in a EBA with holes big enough you could drive a truck through

Sand dune Sam 4th Aug 2011 03:07

Where are all the Impulse guys now? They were on here a long time ago beating their chest as to how good Jetstar was going to be....Judging by the emails that they sent to management a few months ago..they may have realised they may have finally realised they have **** in their own nest?:ugh::ugh::ugh:

waren9 4th Aug 2011 04:30

Dont think its that so much as all the expat DEC C&T mates club training the cadets/singapore pilots/nz pilots Sand Dune Sam  But thats for another thread.

Just sayin'

astroboy55 5th Aug 2011 06:11

As I've said before, if no one takes these shyte T&C's management WILL raise the salaries. These T&C's are still well below market rates.

Please please people do not accept these new contracts. Jetstar are canceling flights. If they do not get crew they will have to up the T&C's yo the market rates. Hang on guys and girls. They will pay the money eventually.

The Green Goblin 5th Aug 2011 06:23

Ask the CEO – Jetstar is committed to two-way communication with our wonderful employees. Therefore we have initiated “Ask the CEO” to give employees a chance to ask our CEO Bruce Buchanan personally about things that are important to them.
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Needed a good laugh on a Friday!

How about we ask him when he is going to pay experienced crew the market rate.

aviationboy 6th Aug 2011 07:51

Holey moley, got the e-mail from Rishworth today. How stupid do they think we are? a $6,500 NZD pay increase is going to make a difference? That is still only 57 602.9131 Australian dollars :=

Laughing my arse off at these fools. You can keep your job!!!

High_To_Low 9th Aug 2011 12:46

Anyone know if the Qantas to JQ MOU has closed for mainline pilots or are applications still open?

GUARD 9th Aug 2011 13:01

Pretty sure it closed on 4/8/11:ok:

Slasher 9th Aug 2011 14:53

I've got two emails so far from Richturd and decided to open
the last one up and see what the spruke is about.

Saw this first and thought it wasn't a bad retainer even after
NZ's ridiculously prohibitive tax, considering the Kiwi will be
strengthening over the next 12 months -

Payment
On commencement NZ$130,000
On completion of 1 year of service NZ$133,900
On completion of 2 years of service NZ$137,917
So I'm thinking ok, where's the actual salary?

Scrolling down I hit this -

Bonuses
Sign-On Bonus
NZ$24,000. Pay back in full if leave within 2 years of payment.

Note: The sign on bonus may be used to cover relocation expenses. On production of receipts for
expenses incurred, expenses will be reimbursed and the reimbursement will be tax free. Total
reimbursement may not exceed the value of the bonus.

Annual Retention Bonus
Guaranteed - NZ$18,000 per annum.
Performance based – NZ$0-$12,000 ($6,000 at target).
Dependent on performance against KPIs.
Paid after end of financial year.
$6,000 if KPIs achieved at target
$12,000 if KPIs achieved at stretch
Sliding scale (pro-rata for partially achieved KPIs)
Pro-rata for time in role (must be in role for 6 months or more of financial year to be eligible).

Pay back in full if leave within 2 years of payment.
I thought fcuk off - what's this "pay back in full if leave within
2 years" bull****? Scrolling down I couldn't find anything at all
about annual salary... and that's when it hit me that $130k
WAS the salary! :yuk:

You'd have to be an absolute financially-suicidal d!ckhead to
even CONSIDER applying for this job!

I stopped reading and deleted the file. I wonder what moron
would be silly enough to go for it, especially anyone presently
sitting atop a high tax-free salary.

waren9 9th Aug 2011 22:51

I wonder what moron would be silly enough to go for it,
Every pilot who is currently earning less than this that wants a payrise. That'd be my guess.

aviationboy 9th Aug 2011 23:02

slasher, you think that is bad.... look at the FO salary!:yuk:

So the deal is, when you leave you have to hand back the last 2 bonus payments IN FULL? :yuk::yuk::yuk::yuk::yuk::yuk::yuk::yuk::yuk:

Good luck finding pilots for that ****e!!!!!:D

KRUSTY 34 10th Aug 2011 00:59

HOLY SH!T!

I thought that was the F/O's salary.

Seem's they aren't that keen on expansion after all? :}

my oleo is extended 10th Aug 2011 01:30

What a fukcing joke Aus aviation has descended into ? Pilots of large passenger aircraft earning less than a Bunnings Team Leader flogging nails and builders glue. The race to the bottom is now moving at a speed that even Donald Campbell couldn't keep up with. This race will eventually plateau when a smoking crater occurs.
Maybe I have woken up a little crankier than usual but I would like to grab all these 'salary packages' on offer, roll them all into the tightest round ball possible and ram them up the as#ses of every CEO orchestrating these pathetic limp wristed deals. Turds....
