Who is buying Virgin shares?

have noticed in the last two days, an incredible volume of VBA shares being traded.
the last two days alone have traded over 50 million shares. and the price has risen slightly.no announcement to the ASX either as to a "substantial holding"

Anyone want to hazard a guess?

Someone, possibly someone making a Strategic move?

Apache, I wouldn't put too much weight on it, that's just what VBA does! It's a typical case of a leaky boat.

If you want to know whether VBA are about to release good or bad news, just monitor the shares and watch for increases in volume and whether or not the shares are being bought up or sold down. (Happens with quite a few other stocks!)

Good way for some people to make a quick bit of coin. Run usually goes 2-3 days, so perfect for T+3 traders ;)

It happens like clock work and ASIC don't really seem to care about these sort of dealings.

If you saw the volume go up and the price remain relatively constant then you might find there are some institutions or larger businesses making a play for it.
However, one could not rule out that the share price was being slightly manipulated down so some of the big boys could accumulate before the name change and some other big changes.

Note: I am only a novice trader and the above only represents my own opinion and does not represent financial advice. DYOR (Do Your Own Research):ok:

Only moronic self flagellating cretins buy airline shares.

We jet fuel sniffing braindead idiots get them given to us as punishment for making a tragically misguided career choice earlier on in life.

...and another 15 million today!

WannaBeBiggles 12th May 2011 10:46

Virgin Blue have 2.2BILLION shares on offer. 15mil is nothing huge.

Checking out todays trades, it looks like the bots are hard at work and did see $151,000 worth of shares change hands in one transaction. But again, probably just an insto doing it's thing.

The buyer seller depth is looking good though with roughly a 2:1 buyer/seller ratio. :)

Long or Short scale Billion? 65million in a short billion is noticeable over a couple-a days. I would have thought 1/33rd of a company is a fair bit of movement over 3 days?

With the share price so low its worth a shot.
