Virgin declares a Pan Pan
Jan 28th 2010 at ADL saw 3 missed approaches performed by Virgin Blue..
One resulted in the pilot declaring a Pan Pan due to a slat failure. I wasn't around for the landing. Were emergency Services used and how was the outcome? |
Chances are that they landed safely and the emergency services were present. Any other outcome it would've been all over the news.
Thread Closed. Oh wait, I can't figure out how to do that :E |
About time?
pan pan, mayday etc sounds jurassic to me. I'm sure it meant something once, but hey I'm over 40 and I don't know the history. Perhaps it is time to modernize this rare but critical radio call?

This thread is a good example of why PPRuNe is a waste of time these days. My solution would be make it a closed forum where you have to pay something - even if it is only $50 a year. Guarantee you might get a couple more of the 'p''s back in to PPRuNe. |
Stop the presses!! 'Virgin Blue Emergency' to run front page nation wide! :ugh:
