Last chance for 40yo F27 model.

Please indulge this Woomeri.

I have access to the last one of about 10 F27 resin models found in the back of a disused office in New Zealand.

I have one of VH-TQN and one of VH-MMV.

Both are amazing in paint job and had never been out of packing box.

They are about 13" long and 15" in wingspan on an impressive stand.

If you would like the last one, which is VH-MMV please give me a yell at [email protected] or give me a call b/h 1800 067 207 or 0419 323 989 a/h.

The model is in the 70's AN strip and is gorgeous.

Other PPRuNers who have purchased TQN/TQP and MMV models - I would appreciate your comments as to quality.

Price is AUD300.00 delivered Australia/NZ

Thanks for your tolerance Woomeri - this is the last one, but important to many.

Best all

Auction A la E-bay?

Hi - how about opening it up for auction, just like E-bay - best bid wins?
If you are game, I'll bid AU$50

PDW

Nope! That would be pushing our tolerance too far! :=

PDW - I will not burden PpRuNe with that.

$300.00 is cheap as chips for what it is and I personally do not have the time to devote to PPRuNebay.

I am only offering it up as it will be very important to someone.

One of the TN Models went to an Aussie pilot in the Philippines, another to the QF Founders Museum in LRE, another to the family of the PIC who flew TQN from Schipol on delivery and the other to the family of the PIC who flew the girl back to Europe.

The MMV model other than mine I placed went to a gentleman who had flown her. Oops - sorry - the QF Founders Museum also got one too.

It's not an auction and the price has been set at a reasonable level for an extremely collectable item.

There is no harm in asking though mate.

Best regards

Ron

F27

Hi, Sent a PM since your email disappeared. Still fly the old girls on night freight in NZ. One is a 1966 model, ex Air NZ still going strong, and the other 2 are very late build. We run two most week nights, Woodbourne, Wellington, Auckland, Palmy, Woodbourne. The other one Palmy Christchuch and back and up to Akl for the weekend. Gets real noisy in Palmy at about 0200 friday mornings as 2 F27s and a Convair come and go. Wonderful machines!

AUD 300.00 for a 27 year old model? Heck, put her on the next LAX Flight. I'll wire you the money.

Pindan warrior 2nd Jul 2009 11:12

EWL - no disrespect intended, knowing how auctions for collectables go, the final offer would be well in excess of the AU$300 you are offering it for.
I have no doubt it will be snapped up by a discerning collector.
All my best...

Well, I have one, Ansetts MMV. And it is a work of art!
Even my wife, who got bored with aeroplanes 40 yrs ago, was impressed!
Anyone who did their initial command on the thing, like I did years ago, will not be disappointed!

The props are more Ansetts L188 than F27, but you're the only one who would know that, and besides, it makes it look better anyhow!

PS: Haven't been called a "gentleman" for years, Ron!! :ok::ok:

Obie 3rd Jul 2009 09:26

Being of that vintage I would presume it would be in Essendons colours?
And anyone knowing the history of Ansett would know what that means!?
And Essendon plays those Collingwood ***** tonight!!

GO THE BOMBERS!!

Or you could go for either the Revell or ERTL kits for a lot less dosh... the ERTL in particular is a very good kit. Got mine for $40.00 off Ebay... NOS.

One sold on OZtion last year for AUD$20.00.

Remoak - thou etes un bogan - with all due respect.

Messieurs Revell et Airfix fabrique les bon modeles -BUT - I have a nearly 70 of better snapfit plastic units in my office without the dodgy decals that depart on the first application of sunlight.

These are 40 year old solid resin models in 3 parts - fuselage complete with horizontal and vertical stabs, wings and turbines as one piece with the rotating props as the only addon.

There are a few minor tech errors such as incorrect pax window placement on MMV, but that is it. Beautiful models and a bonus for my collection and those they went to.

That was the whole point. PDW - you are correct. I stealthed my TQN model by a bit of good and lucky bidding for $195.00 delivered, contacted the seller and told him they going too cheap and middlemanned for him thru PPRuNe as I knew the AN and TN units would go at a price above what I paid and would be good for the seller. Happily paid for the MMV to have the 60's thru 80's regional set in the office and don't they drag comments!

They did and everyone was happy - win-win. The seller is happy, as no market over in the Land of the Wrong White Crowd and a decent one here.

It looks like there are 2 of the beasties in NZ blue strip left - still at the AUD300 level delivered to AUS, so if any of you Bondi Bandits want one, drop me a line at [email protected] - this may get wiped as the last one did, but stretching it - the addy is ron at jetsetdpo.com just to overide "bots".

They are sort of thing you know are priceless, but can never properly explain to your wife.

Don't want a nice TAA Electra ex travel agent model in reasonable condition, EWL?

Eastwest Loco 12th Jul 2009 08:52

CLX - thou hast piqued my interest.

Please give me a yell on 1800 067 207 tomorrow mate!

Best regards

EWL
