What are Airline CEO's worth?
Just ask the CEO of Japan Airlines!
YouTube - Japan Airline's CEO Slashes his Pay Below the Pay of Pilots, other CEO Should Learn from Him ! If it doesn't come up, type in search at You Tube "JAL CEO" |

What's the relevance?
No apparent link between salary and financial success that I can see. (hat, coat, helmet g'day) |
According to the last CX annual report the CX CEO gets less than one quarter of the last QF CEO's salary.:confused:

I'll play devil's advocate with Ref to LKH.
Mr Lim is the largest single shareholder. He is more than a 2 year plan CEO. Whereas the Dixons, Joyce's, Eddingtons and most definitely Jacksons are (were) highly paid executives, who's mandate appeared to be the feathering of one's own nest, LKH has a significant personal interest in the "long term" viability of REX. It is therefore no surprise that he would attempt to lead by example. Now I haven't changed my opinion one little bit with regard to the crewing issues. This financial downturn will IMHO only serve to exacerbate the pilot shortage for years to come. The failure to properly remunerate and retain these dwindling resourses will be the real real impediment to growth long after the world financial sector begins to recover. But, as far as LKH's dedication to REX is concerned, it would be a brave individual who would argue otherwise. |
Airline training??
And the airlines that set up a proper planning and training system for new pilots will fare much better than those that just rely on being able to rape GA whenever they need pilots.
Pilots are becoming more aware of what is involved, and the uncertainty means that there will not be so many cashed up "junior skygods" around. |
As far as GA is concerned bushy, it would be more akin to necrophilia than rape!
Setting up your own pilot training scheme is fine, provided you have a plan for the future. Qantas pilots mostly spend years before they gain a control seat, so the training and experience accumilation can/should be considerable. As for all the others, well...? |
as posted on some other site
I hardly see how that is relevant, but I post it anyway - all public sources. His comp is low, esp in comparison to the Americans.

His comp is low, esp in comparison to the Americans. It is grossly misleading including Joyces past salary in your list, he wasn't the CEO of QANTAS until only a few months ago, you should have used Dixons. I reckon you will see that Dixon is at the top of the tree. I saw a comparison either here or on Q Room a while back which added the top 5 (I think???) execs in each of the major airlines, and it was breath taking just how much extra QF was paying. I think number 5 earner at QF (HR Boss or some such) was still more than the number 1 at most airlines, the total when put together was truly obscene. :yuk: :yuk: :yuk: |
What are Airline CEO's worth?!
Zero, in the Australasian region, given current track records, treatment of employees and non-recognition of core issues by many of them. |
What are they worth? I suggest we'll find out their true worth over the next 12 to 24 months.
