Qantas ZK rego?
I just caught it for a moment on this evening's ABC-1 news but there was a picture of something looking like a B767 in QF livery with New Zealand rego. Is this part of Good Ol' Dickson's plan to have all QF aircraft maintenance handled off-shore? It'd be one way to get around the current strike, I guess...

Wonder if they leased one from Air NZ ?
Intriguing... |
Probabably a JITCINICT B737.
|
Sure,
The 737 is the one that occassionaly flies up and down the East Coast with QF CityFlyer. The 767 is the one stuck at the gate with one too many MEL's. |
In expats defence, I saw it too, but it was the briefest of glimpses. Quite easy to miss the type if you were taking note of a big ZK rego! I thought it was a 737 though, but, at the risk of being flamed, I couldn't make out the series...:hmm: (Be kind now...)

Whilst returning from the Wanaka Airshow, I'm sure I saw 2 x 737's in QANTAS colours sporting 'ZK' regos on the ground at NZAK, or was it NZCH?
Am sure our brothers across the 'detch' could assist......:ok::ok: At the time I assumed they were for ops wholly within NZ....... Cheers:ok: |
Just checked the NZ CAA registry and the only ZK- 767s appear to belong to Air NZ.
Interestingly, it does not appear to show any Air NZ 773s, only the 772s. |
Qantas Jetconnect - The NZ (cost saving) version of QF (so I was told by one of the F/A's).
They operate the 733 and 734 both internally and across the ditch from NZ. regos are: 733: ZK- JNB/JNC/JND/JNN/JNO 734: ZK- JTP/JTQ/JTR All expat QF. Hope that cleared it up:ok: Edit: Can all be found in link above! |

Just to throw something else out there... Could it have been a QF 767 with a VH-ZX* rego rather than a ZK-*** keeping in mind that on the 767 nose gear doors it dosn't have the VH-.

Kiwi Engineer12,
Thanks, I stand corrected :ok:. I knew they'd been ordered and thought they might've started feeding in by now; clearly not! |
It was definately ZK-JNN, as I remembered the NN on the end but, was wary of posting my recollections.
|
Come to Brisbane, especially on a Saturday and they are easy enough to spot. The only QF Liveried 733's still operating.
They must be just 'lovely' to cross the ditch on. All part of the Dixon outsourcing machine. Wonder how long before someone outsources him? |
OOOPS, SORRY Mr "Kiwi Eng.',
Humblest apologies for thut.:):) p.s. REALLY enjoyed the hospitality at Wanaka...youse guys and gals certainly know how to put on an excellent event!!:ok::ok: |
QF125 & 126 and some weekend QF115 & 116 AKL-BNE-AKL service are mostly operated by JC 73s....

Thanks for the clarification. As Buster said - and I should've said - it was a very brief glimpse and the ZK rego jumped at me before I had time to notice much else.
