"our Airline"

Arrived in Bne last night and noticed a 737-600 parked on bay# 47. I think the rego was VH-INU. It's only other identifying mark was "our Airline" painted on the top of fuselage rear of the o'wing exit. The paint scheme consisted of flowing blue ribbons.
Does anyone know who this belongs to and their purpose??

apacau 15th Mar 2007 22:35

It's a 737-300 and "Our Airline" is the former Air Nauru

greenslopes 15th Mar 2007 22:57

Thanks for that..............shouldn't they rebrand as "air Phoenix" as they seem to destroy themselves and re-birth on a regular basis!

Chocks Away 16th Mar 2007 07:31

Backed by Taiwanese fishing dollars and mixed in with Air Marshall Islands and Solomon Airlines I'm informed.

baffler15 16th Mar 2007 08:54

They've recently been doing charter trips into WPDL.

MIss Behaviour 15th Apr 2008 03:37

I believe Airlines PNG utilise this aircraft for their BNE-POM-BNE service after dropping OzJet.

has been getting around the top end and wa - with mining bosses

Sal-e 15th Apr 2008 15:56

Le Pilot,
you're absolutely right. They run the airline just well enough to pay for the Brisbane based pilots and management salaries, but not the local Nauru staff. So well done in that area.
Buster Hyman,
not entirely accurate. Maybe it should have been called 'Their Airline', ie not the Nauruans. All else spot on.

Buster Hyman 15th Apr 2008 22:18

Fair call, fair call...:ok:

Kwaj mate 15th Apr 2008 22:36

BNE based ON

When Ro***ts made the airline structure a corporation, NLK charters paid local salaries & Australian costs. Australian generated funds were at least available to keep things operating. The big costs (leases, engineering, fuel, insurances) still had to be approved by Felix & funds begged, borrowed etc from within the Island to keep ON running. NAC is still only half way to being self-sufficient.

Trojan1981 16th Apr 2008 01:15

Doing charter work is it? I saw it in Richmond (NSW) a couple of months ago, filling in for a broken seven-o I'm told.

patagonianworelaud 26th Jun 2011 08:28

Noticed VH-INU sitting on a bay in Changi recently as I passed through. Where was it going?

Skystar320 26th Jun 2011 08:55

wow - who would have thought that we'd spot an aircraft

patagonianworelaud 26th Jun 2011 12:39

I happened to recognise the aircraft from when I flew on it once from Sydney to Norfolk Island. It stuck in my mind seeing it is their only aircraft. You seem to think that strange, Skystar320.

ResumeOwnNav 26th Jun 2011 12:45

MIss Behaviour,

Airlines PNG have a codeshare arrangement with Virgin Australia / Pacific Blue for their 4 weekly BNE POM BNE service.
