Guilty or not.... 20years for a bag of pot, no way.. The crime doesnt fit the punishment, send her home.. you get less for mass murdrer!!!

Sunfish 23rd Jun 2008 13:01

Guys. you have to understand that locking up (or executing) a "white eyes" is seen a s nation building in Asia.

Just visit some Asian websites for confirmation. You will see Singaporeans calling Malays "jungle bunnies " and much worse.

Hanging a European is a matter of national pride.

Cap'n Arrr 23rd Jun 2008 13:36

Back on the original thread topic, regardless of whether or not Schapelle is innocent or not, she wrote a book bagging out QF. Without courts convicting QANTAS of anything, it is opinion only, it cannot be passed off as fact. So then, when QF refuse to advertise said book, she claims that "They're hiding something!"

No, you tool, they just don't want a book bagging them out using unproven facts being advertised in their terminals. It's just like you wouldn't find an ad for a book called "Donald Trump is an evil 3rd world Dictatorial Alien Terrorist" being advertised in Trump Towers.

I fail to see what Corby and her publisher find surprising about this.:ugh:

ejectx3 23rd Jun 2008 14:35

The whole "QF staff planted the stuff in my bag" was revealed as pure fabrication in the TV show aired Sunday night.

topend3 24th Jun 2008 04:46

agreed, this is an attempt to make corby look like the poor innocent damsel who had drugs planted in her bag.

it is an amazing co-incidence that the corby family resides next to a convicted pot grower and dealer, there appears to be drug history in the family. also, her sister mercedes is married to an indo who runs a "surf shop" in kuta.

if corby didn't put the drugs in herself then she knew who she was carrying them for i reckon.

teresa green 24th Jun 2008 06:01

What about the other girl, who walked away, the model from Sydney, someone Lesley, who suddenly decided that Islam was for her, and out came the Hijab, now that was smart. Never mind she had a very rich boyfriend at the time who owned a car dealership, must of cost him a motsa, but hey, she is back, (sans the hijab) (or whatever that thingy is called)!:D:D

priapism 24th Jun 2008 06:07

I agree topend .

It is no surprise that she has suddenly become depressed . Her last appeal has failed and the media has tipped a big bucket of sh!t on her revealing the likely truth. The whole lot of them are a bunch of bogan bushpigs with drug habits. She has lost most of the support from those Australians who fell for the "baggage handler" story.

Only the most gullible or stupid now think she was an innocent party to this.

lowerlobe 24th Jun 2008 06:07

All that matters is that you play the locals game by their rules.....As teresa green said another girl played the game is home scot free....

plainmaker 24th Jun 2008 06:10

Get the facts straight

Topend - hope you have plenty of money.

Yr assertion resides next to a convicted pot grower and dealer is not correct. He was convicted of possession, not dealing, and the quality of his product was clearly inferior to the stuff foungd in Bali

Next one - indo who runs a "surf shop" in kuta. My understanding is he is a rep for a board company. No 'interest' in the shop, nor an employee.

And the last comment - about the Corby's association with drugs - ask Channel 7 about making that sort of statement.

I am all for the guilty to be punished. It is just that I adhere to the concept of 'reasonable doubt' and there are too many holes in this saga.

And my AFP / Customs contacts have 'never' lost a controlled item in airside exercises ever - yeah right. But without 'facts' that also is innuendo.

Plainmaker

UPPERLOBE 24th Jun 2008 06:23

We could sit here all day and pick holes in the story either way, but as long as it gets churned up every month or so she has no chance of getting out of gaol.

Great isn't it, her saga sells papers and gets ratings that's it, no interest in her as a human being. So it's in the media's interest to have her right where she is.

Say she is as guilty as hell, would not 4 years in Kerobokan be an adequate sentence?

Seriously.

Grove 24th Jun 2008 07:35

I agree upperlobe..

Guilty/Not guilty....enough, she is a young woman who may or may not have made a mistake. She didnt kill anyone, blow anything up and certainly isnt a threat to anyone..

Send her home!!!!!

Kiwiguy 24th Jun 2008 08:26

The gossip I heard was that her brother in law was an Indonesian national and whether wittingly, or unwittingly her family was smuggling.

I don't think she was little miss innocent. She will wake up some day after a few years in jail to find she has been pardoned. That's the way it works over there.

If she is guilty, then the best way to get a pardon is simply to make an apology and admission from the heart. :=

parabellum 24th Jun 2008 11:02

I think the Indonesian authorities are quite happy that pictures of Corby's plight are spread far and wide and the fact that her alibi has collapsed is better still, it is hoped it will be seen as a message to would be traffickers that it doesn't really pay. When the Indonesians have had their moneys worth they may well show magnanimosity and send her back to Australia. For Corby there is no such thing as bad publicity, all she has to do now is say sorry.

Dark Knight 24th Jun 2008 12:08

The charge was possession of drugs which she admitted was in the boogie board she was carrying ie guilty! which was the court found.

She did this in another country and suffered the penalty for breaking the laws of that country - whether we like them or not - tuff!

It is not that Australians travelling overseas have not been warned.

Upperlobe & Grove - tell that to the kids whose lives have been ruined by drugs or worse still lives destroyed; tell it to the parents who lost their kids!!!

Let her rot in goal

DK

capt.cynical 24th Jun 2008 12:24

:)Free Shapelle, Then lock up the rest of the family.:yuk:

UPPERLOBE 24th Jun 2008 13:21

Dark Knight,

Are you serious?

Man, what a high horse you ride on.

F.Y.I, I have an adult child who is addicted to alcohol and prescription and over the counter pain killlers, she is also anorexic and weighs just 30 kg and my wife and I are preparing for the worst.

You need to be very careful about lecturing to people who might know more about a subject than you think.

If you care to re read my post you will see that I said that I think 4 years in Kerobokan might be sufficient.

teresa green 25th Jun 2008 05:06

After lasts night viewing, (trying to hear over the females in the house was difficult) you would have to say the whole thing was like a ferals picnic, and without a doubt they are certainly lenient with the truth, but let the girl go, enough is enough, rapists don't get that much time here, let her go, and if they are guilty (which they probably are) they will think twice about exporting drugs (one would hope) in the future. Stick to fish and chips (look where it got Pauline Hanson!) As for QF it must shudder every time it sees them. (Had to put the airline bit in for tidbinbilla)!

Dogman 25th Jun 2008 05:34

I can't believe how righteous some of you are! Why can't the defence team use the baggage handlers as a plausible story. Remember its not the truth their trying to prove..........just create resonable doubt into the minds of the judges, and they're entilted to use whatever methods/arguments they can to get their client aquitted.

As for the some of the comments people are making about "rot in hell", and "ferals" etc.......well lets hope no one in your family or no one you know ever ends up in Corbys position. Gulity or not, her crime pales in comparison compared to that bastard who fronts Jemiah Islamia and supported the Bali Bombers................how many people did they kill again???? 80 or so wasn't it? He walked free after a few years. Just think about it guys.

DM

Buster Hyman 25th Jun 2008 05:44

Drugs aren't as "instant" when they kill....:(

Pinky the pilot 25th Jun 2008 06:48

and they're entilted to use whatever methods/arguments they can to get their client aquitted.
Ah yes, the old 'the ends justify the means' ploy!

Whilst I admit that I am not a lawyer, I suspect that defaming/slandering a person or group of people, in this case the Baggage handlers, could be viewed as professional misconduct.:=
