Sadly for all you conspiracy theorists out there (and happily for everyone else), the following statement has been released this morning;
Sydney - Thursday - September 9: (RWE Aust Business News) - Qantas Airways Ltd today requested the stock exchange lift the trading halt placed over its shares yesterday. This follows the completion of the bookbuild process by British Airways for the sale of its 18.25 per cent shareholding in Qantas. "We understand that the bookbuild was cleared at $3.28 per share and that the shares are to be widely distributed to Australian and international investors," Qantas said. Have traded as high as $3.40 15 minutes into trading today. |
But there is still around 20% availiable to foreigners so they can be bought at the right price.
Isnt Temasek an investment company. If SQ go for it EK will snare Air NZ and criss-cross australia to link with there own flights to all corners of the Earth. |
