Redpath Regional takes to the air

Redpath Regional Air Services commenced operations in December between Port Macquarie, Lismore and Brisbane. A C208 VH-OZH is operating the flights.

Whose 'van is/was that?

I'm gone! 6th Jan 2004 11:44

Gday Stallie,

OZH used to be J.D Drilling out of Chinchilla.
Have seen it on the ramp in BN. Good luck to them.

Cheers,
I'm gone!

P.S You probably would have seen it on a Re-line job around NW QLD

Good one.

John, nice to see she is paying her way.

Hope it goes well.

Yep, that's the one...went on more than a few reline trips with it and me in the shrike. Could not remember if it was that one, or the one Pete subsequently bought.

Wonder if the surging AUD will mean more vans into the country?

Cheers!

Is that Bill Redpath who used to operate C340 on hospital patient transfers a few years ago out of PMQ?

Near Miss 7th Jan 2004 19:35

Yeah that's the guy. Good luck with it Bill. :ok:

Return airfare BN-PMQ is $660 ($330 1 way). You can catch the Dash 8 from PMQ to SYD then a QF flight SY-BN for $237-$345 one way. Therefore a return PMQ-BN with Eastern/QF will cost you $474-$690. The morning Eastern/QF will get you to BN at the same time as the Van (0900). If the passengers drive up to CH they can catch the Sunshine Express flight to BN with fares starting at $155 1 way. I've been told the numbers from PMQ are not good with the LIS - BN not doing much better. Airfare from LIS to BN is $165 1 way. Very strong rumours another airline will be operating PMQ-BN by May.

Just wondering - I don't recall impulse or anyone else for that matter operating a B190...................

whogivesa???? 9th Jan 2004 07:22

B190 was/is the designator used on the Flight Plan for the Beech 1900.

Pricing

I know Bill pretty well, he's a good bloke. I used to fly in PMQ and even instructed there for a while.

Oxley Airlines used to run a fairly effective service with Chieftains up and down the coast as well. The market is surely there.

As for the price...you can always come down. To constantly raise prices scares people away.
