Question How are Alliance Airlines going?

Just wondering how they are going? They have been operating the Brisbane to Rocky route for over a month so how are the load factors? Have the loads picked up on the Brisbane to Gladstone route yet?

Any news on when or if anymore F100's are due? Is it true they may lease a Fokker 50 from Skywest, it so what is the future for the E120?

One final question, when will they get a web page that is Alliance Airlines and not Flight West?

i believe they may be signing a lease on one of Skywest's F50's , and have plans to aquire more of the F100's as there are a number of cheap used examples lying around. I think they will go quite well, and have plans to expand services back into Darwin and Alice, routes they flew prior to the collapse of Ansett, they also have a bit of charter work on the go and are using the F100's on contract to the adf doing troop changeover Townsville-Darwin_Dili and return starting middle of October. as for the website they must be changing over soon you would think???

They appear to be struggling a bit on the Norfolk Island run with the F100's. They were to commence a Sydney/Norfolk Island service on 7th September to operate on Saturday & Sundays.
Startup date is now 28th September and then only on Saturdays.

From Brisbane they appear to be hauling a lot of day trippers.

On Sundays after they arrive on Norfolk Island from Brisbane they have to startup again and go an park on the end of the non-jet runway to allow ANZ/NJE flights in, and then at on Sunday evening startup again and taxi back to the terminal.

I hate to think of the maintenance cost of all those engine starts.

Going very well. Have got QF and VBs attention.

NJ closing Rocky base, why?

Load factors climbing very well.

But I think that it is all happening in the background.

As B & T says"watch this space"

From what I've heard and seen the load factors are climbing.

A few weeks back I was talking to one of the Alliance check-in staff and they said passenger feedback has been very positive, with most pleased to have some competition back.

I think one the problems they have at the moment is they don't have enough F100's, but I hear that could be fixed soon

Alliance will also be doing the Argyle Diamond mine contract, transporting workers from Perth to ADM, two or three flights a week I believe.

Wink

Another thread has an article from 'The Australian' indicating Alliance Airlines is using T2 at Sydney. Does the reporter have some "inside info" on possible future ops?

Dirty Little Fokker------- maybe your little wager will be a winner!!!

Exclamation

Alliance are in for a big shock when Virgin Blue start operating on the Brisbane to Rockampton run. Virgin Blue will commence Rocky before the year is out.

Alliance may not need anymore Fokker's.

Cool

The Check and Training Manager position was given to an ex-

Ansett A320 Capt.

No time on the F100, therefore he is up in Korea doing the

conversion.

Why was this position not filled from within? The F100 has been

around for awhile now, surely one of the current checkies would

meet the requirements.

Wirraway,

I think you'll find that the F-100 that arrived in Bne at that time is Skywest's 1st F-100 (VH-FNY) that arrived from its ferry from Europe. It's getting some final touches before going over to the west to take over from FWI's position that has been on loan for the week, hence the F-50(FNH) that has been doing a week's work for Alliance. It's Skywest who has directly leased the aircraft, it's nothing to do with Alliance. Skywest is just using the Alliance AOC and crews till such time that Skywest train their people and gets their own AOC for it.

Alliance need to act fast or they will be gone in 6 months. The average Joe Bloggs on the streets of Brisbane have no idea who they are. Their Brisbane terminal set up doesn't help either their passengers are required to go through Qantas or Virgin Blue secruity . Qantas wants the centre terminal and BAL will give it to them. Qantas are killing them on Gladstone and Rocky and now they have Virgin to contend with. Whatever route they start Virgin will follow.

Lots more F100's on the way!

Alliance will be operating on Virgin routes very soon!

Advertising campaign about to start, along with more new routes.

Alliance are looking at purchasing the Ansett Merlin system!
