Vale Captain Jim Evans ex Airlines of SA/Ansett

It is with great sadness that I advise the death this morning of Jim Evans in an Adelaide nursing home, after a long battle with Dementia. Jim was a great bloke, who will be sadly missed by his many friends in ASA/Ansett, Rex and the Aviation Museum.
Funeral details TBA.
Rest in Peace

I met Jim when he was flying with Kendell Airlines in Adelaide. Sad to hear that he had dementia before he passed away. I remember making a comment to him that I saw him in a photo at the Aviation Museum which bought a wry smile from him.

With sadness I read this about Jim. Always a true gentleman, and gentle by nature. As a newly minted FO in KD in the mid 90’s when we first flew together he insisted on taking my photo in the flight deck. When asked why, he said he writes the names on the back of all the pics so he will always remember the names of who he flew with. Well, I remember you Mate - you taught me a lot and we had many laughs tougher!
RIP and see you in the skies Jim.

Sad to hear indeed. I first met Jim at RACSA back in the 70's. He was always friendly and willing to share his aviation knowledge
