New 'Bonza' LCC launches middle 2022 with B737 MAX
ACCC should be able to stop another operator scheduling within X hours of the first on the same route for 18 months.
Key word in that sentence is SHOULD.
Have you not noticed that QF and VA schedules often follow from the two airline policy days? Arriving minutes apart.
The ACCC wil do nothing at all.

PPP-Adelaide is about the biggest market not served. Unless they are thinking about one weekly PPP to Ballarat or something.

True but you get a couple of airports to stump up $1M in route development and the financials look great when they start. Then an IPO to let the public in on the 'amazing business'. The airport agreements come to an end and the routes have to stand up without support. Not viable so the whole lot goes down.
I honestly hope they make money but they will have airport (read ratepayer) money underpinning some pretty dumb airport pairs. That is not long term sustainable.

What makes Bonza think that it can make a route like this work given JQ already operate MEL / SYD / BNE to PPP. If a route like ADL PPP was even remotely feasible, wouldn’t JQ have tried it already?
They want to offer 50% the amount of routes Jetstar fly but with 90% less aircraft. They will do that by flying once or twice a week. That’s a pretty small market or non existent market they are chasing.

I think it’s more they are looking at doing such routes once or twice a week. They think it’s feasible at once or twice a week. I don’t believe that’s the case but that’s all out of the Bonza playbook.

Newcastle Airport Facebook page is touting that Bonza will be flying there from the Whitsundays and the Sunshine Coast mid 2022. Haven’t seen any announcement from Bonza yet, must be imminent

It seems they have very quickly removed that post from their FB page....premature evacuation
Looks like they have a deal with 9 with many announcements booked for tomorrow across its platforms, starting with Today in the morning.
