You do realise that you are arguing with an actual lawyer, don’t you? And a sober, knowledgeable one at that. You may want to quit while you are ahead.

Yeah understood, it's pointless, I'm sure we've all gone with a lawyers advice or opinion at some time in our lives only to lose in the courts.

Regarding Delta vaccination policy…

https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...ployees-506877

Delta Air Lines health surcharge for vaccines could cascade across industries

Unvaccinated Delta Air Lines employees will soon be forced to pay an additional $200 per month for the company's health care plan, making the Georgia-based airline the first such major U.S. company to tie vaccination status to health care costs, a move other industries could soon follow.…..

Other steps announced Wednesday by Bastian include a mask requirement for all employees in indoor settings and an end to Covid-19 pay protections for unvaccinated Delta staffers. Unvaccinated employees will also be required to undergo weekly Covid-19 tests.….

Alan Joyce is demonstrating leadership where politicians fear to tread.
Haven’t always been a fan but this time is he is spot on.
Others will follow.

A more sensible approach is to encourage employees to choose the vaccination even if that means incentives. To terminate an existing employee for not being vaccinated particularly if there are medical grounds falls squarely in discrimination.
Discrimination tends to mean prejudicial treatment of people because of a characteristic that they have no choice in and cannot change. You know, like being disabled. Please don't confuse it with being treated differently on account of one's beliefs being shaped by what was on the internet this morning. Ultimately they can choose to get the vaccine, so discrimination it is not, unless, as you say, they cannot get vaccinated for medical reasons (being vulnerable to manipulation by Facebook doesn't count). All of the mandates that I have read about so far make specific exemptions for people who are genuinely unable to be vaccinated.

Except COVID-19 is a virus not a bacteria so it needs a host cells to replicate. And why everyone needs to be vaccinated even if they are not at risk because they could be that host where the virus mutates into a more deadly variant. Or they could be infected but asymptomatic and be spreading it to others that do get sick, or die.

Same I have never seen any regulations, or even proposed regulation that would ask someone to get vaccinated against medical advice. I think now it will just have to be more regulated with proper examination and not just self declaring yourself as exempt like happened here for the last 18 months in the UK.

Thick gummy tar covering an eight inch diameter cone stretching another ten inches in length over a metal loop. All this after a couple or three days flying. So it's reasonable to suspect that Covid-19 bacteria are on those filters now I would think. But changing them on a regular basis may have subsided since the smoker days. Air blowing threw them constantly flight after flight. Bits of bacteria coming off and re-entering the cabin vents, building up inside the ducts. Last I checked, there was no maintenance protocol for disinfecting the aircraft ducts. Up to hundreds of people in close proximity breathing and rebreathing each other's lung air, with duct air blowing in your face. I wonder if this bacteria can breed in a warm duct wet spot? Growing, morphing, getting bigger, angrier, unraveling the vent clasps, teeth protruding, hungry, wet, salivating, forming claws, teeth...then.....Sydney approach....we have a prob......zzzz
Um… After 18 months I would have thought everybody would be up to speed on the difference between bacteria and a Virus. Viruses by themselves can do absolutely nothing. They can’t breed, grow, or mutate on a surface. All they can do is become non viable after a very short time in a HEPA filter ( which are used on aircraft nowadays). They can only do “something” when they are inside a hosts cell.

Bacteria are almost the complete opposite. They can breed, and grow on a surface indecently.

You can think of it as bacteria are living organisms and viruses are not a living organism. There is some controversy among scientists on the this, depending on how you define “alive”, but for a basic layman’s explanation it will work.

So no need to worry, no teeth and claws coming to an aircraft near you.

Yep I get it, so it's ok to discriminate against fat people and collingwood supporters. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

No! Alan Joyce is using it as an excuse to get rid of more staff!
As Alan sees it, you’re either with me, or against me.

I would have thought so too (difference between virus and bacteria) but here we are. More people thinking they know what they’re talking about. This whole misinformation and disinformation is completely out of control.

You can bang on as much as you want about discrimination, AJ being prxxk, conspiracy theories, choices in life, human rights but this pandemic is much bigger than the QF HR Department. In the fullness of time you will not be allowed to move interstate let alone internationally without being vaccinated.
The choice is simple:
NO JAB = NO JOB

It's incredible that any responsible, intelligent QF staff member would refuse vaccination.
