There are many Rembrandts and Picassos out there who can paint a dream web site for around A$4,406.24.

Kinda like selling crypto currency but with aeroplanes. Isn't IT strange.

Twenty years ago, Virgin Blue started off with $10 million seed capital and a $15 million loan, which got it two aircraft and a single route. Within a year it was close to going under and probably would have if Ansett hadn’t collapsed.

$2.9 million might get you into piston twin charter work outside of the capital cities and you wouldn’t want to spend it all at once as you’d need a reserve to cover the operating costs until you were up and running.

Genuinely quite staggered there's $4K in there to be honest... It's like paying for someone else's pipe dream.

Looks like there are two people who have now dropped off the list of People behind the Airline. Also looks like they were the only two with any serious Airline Management experience...

Or Plan B: A great p*ss up in 33 days, 18 hours, 44 minutes and 18 seconds?

Wish I'd thought of that winning scheme.

P.S. If it took 27 donors to reach $4,406.24, Brad only needs an additional 17,743 gullible contributors to donate the average donation of $163.19 achieve the target $2.9 million. With 33 days 18 hours to go, they need 22 contributors per hour to get there. Easy!!

could they have put their own money in under a few aliases to make it look like people are spending and make it look good? A bit of incentive maybe?

Take note. It’s a private web site ( read the FAQ), it’s not a Gofundme page. So I assume they could just go into the site and put any dollar amount they wanted.

I couldn't remotely take him seriously with the way he speaks and his attire. Anyone who willingly gives him their money deserves to lose it.
I think he is trying to look like Niki Lauda or something like that. ( just my thoughts.)

The video is champagne comedy.

I do hope Brad gets the support he so evidently needs.

FFS- a “better culinary experience” and “customer satisfaction at its core”.

Sorry brad, you can’t sell $50 airfares on the east coast and $100 from the west coast and deliver on these promises. Ask a now defunct low cost carrier about customer satisfaction when they had a piss-ant fleet.

Good luck to the few who think it’s a wise idea to invest in this.

Personally I doubt he has any intention of doing anything other than parting fools and their money. He has form.

I would swear this funding request was a wind up if not for the fella's stated history. Gave me a good laugh anyway!

When l came on here reading about "brad", l thought the the up and coming, crowd sourced, airline was using the Steven 'Brad'bury model of success.

I think l may be correct.

Went for a walk, poured a drink and having nothing better to do checked on Brad’s progress. At the moment I don’t think he could pay the office rent for a month !!

Never mind the rent, a CASA officer processing a high capacity AOC application gets charged out at $190/hr, which means Brad can pay a single officer for three days work. Starting an airline would involve several such people and they would be on the job for weeks.

From Q & A:

"If I make a contribution to brad will I receive any shares or securities in the company?"
"No You are not entitled to any shares or securities in brad. You are only entitled to your FREE future Golden Ticket rewards".

Could this be interpreted as telling those paying in that they're not investors or lenders, they are just members of the public buying rights to tickets. Joking apart, is that in effect selling tickets, and if so, is it actually legal for a would-be operator with (presumably) no licences?

Question for Consumer Affairs perhaps?

Here’s a link to the CASA fees page.

https://www.casa.gov.au/about-us/rep...dards-and-fees

The charges aren’t too bad for the expertise involved, and seem like a bargain when compared to what the lawyers and accountants would be invoicing.

A new start up airline also needs to employ its own “set up” team for the required post holder positions such as Chief Pilot and Head of Training etc. Preferably people with experience in starting an operation from scratch, and they don’t come cheap either.

With the amount of money he’s raised he might be able to get into a lawn mowing franchise if he took on a lot of finance.
