Why announce they will hibernate in the desert but they stay here?

QF are waiting on the government to make a decision on additional charters and a potential increase in the current IFAM (LAX, LHR)

That is why when the announcement was made to fly them half way around the world and put the in deep hibernation I didn’t believe it.
makes no sense to park your best aircraft, in the current environment.
I was therefore curious if there was a different agenda.
