Can you all stop yelling from your online flying club lounge coffee table? All I see are a bunch of old farts scared of being told that you have to do your paperwork properly and you cant go about teaching redundant and unsafe processes and telling young aspiring pilots there is some Gov tyrany attempting to kill GA. There is no money grab, GA is financially insignificant to the government and its all opinions of boomers who cant keep up to date.
Glen, stop representing GA in your traditional manic fashion. Starfish, you have no sustenance to your accusations. Paragraph, stop throwing primitive insults. Ta.,

We’re all ears, Jake: Why hasn’t the DPM appointed a new CEO of CASA, despite 5 years’ notice that it had to be done?
short flights long nights

More possibilities......Greg Hood?
Mick’s LinkedIn profile now shows him as ‘freelancer’, so I was correct about him resigning. However I’m not so sure anymore that it is he who will receive the CEO DAS crown however. He can be a naughty boy at times. Just keep the keys to the liquor cabinet away from him (and ban him from the photocopier room)
Interestingly, Mr Carmody also has his profile updated to ‘freelancer’ on LinkedIn. No doubt he will receive some aviation consultative work from the Government. Snouts in the trough - it’s the gift that keeps on giving. Perhaps he is also looking for work as an obsfucator, serial bull****ter and he can offer consultative advice about how to spend 30+ years sucking off the taxpayer teat? Mind you, with those giant ears of his (gives Daniel Andrews a run for his money) he could be used to test aerodynamics in a wind tunnel. His other strengths are being a good footstool.
Finally, what’s the deal with Mr Hood from the ATSB? His position has been advertised also. He too is a former CASA Deputy DAS. Has he resigned from the ATSB or is his contract up for renewal and the Government is following the rules of transparency and putting the role out there for any qualified candidate to apply? He does tick the Governments LGBTQ box. Perhaps party boy Greg has his sights set on Montreal and a stint with ICAO? Note to Greg: they are a bunch of dullards over there and they won’t tolerate any shenanigans. Strictly sports jackets and iced tea. No laughing permitted.
A long shot could always be the return of The Screaming Skull or Bruce Byron??

Quick question. I understand CASA is looking to recruit and appoint a new DAS/CEO...
I assume anyone contemplating accepting such an appointment would do due diligence.
What person would take the job with this steaming turd of the Glen Buckley/APTA case hanging overhead?
I would want it resolved before I took the job because otherwise it would fall to me to resolve it which is likely going to require a public apology by CASA, the payment to Mr. Buckley of a very large sum and a full blown strategic review and restructuring of CASA itself.

Sunfish, each incoming DAS/CEO has inherited a steaming hot turd, it is nothing new. The next one will inherit the ‘Buckley turd’, but they won’t be too concerned about that. Do not be mistaken - a desire to perform a public service for the country, the passionate urge to ensure that there are ‘safe skies for all’ in our wonderful country and the ingrained urge to do all you can for others does not rate highly on the new DAS/CEO radar. In fact, it doesn’t even rate a mention.
As a high ranking Liberal politician who presides over 18 months worth of branch stacking, sports and funding rorts, travel allowance rorts and Parliament House sexual assaults once said; ‘these are unprecedented times”.

Saturday 24 April announcement - New CEO/DAS
Supposedly the DPM’s office will formally announce who the new CEO/DAS is on Saturday 24 April (tomorrow). I guess the truthful response to that is ‘who gives a sh#t’. Whether it is true or not, nothing will change anyway, you can’t put lipstick on a pig. She/her/he/him/it/non-binary will be a puppet at the mercy of the Board and dopey DPM. Another trough dweller who is narcissistic, sociopathic and arrogant. It’s all tautological.

But the words you use really are quite pathetic, yes thats my view. Far too personal and probably says as much about you as we all think of casa. Perhaps go look in the mirror, are you really that perfect. Stiff casa yes, but you are a bigger legacy to industry than casa with an attitude like that.
Onya Para 377,
As someone who has had the CAsA treatment, I concur absolutely.
No need for nice wording, the Oz vernacular will do the job.
CAsA persons and some who don’t like it...tough !
Wait until youve been through the CAsA mill and it will be a different story!
The disgusting state of the “authority” this country is saddled with, just shows how useless our politicians are, and how self servicing, immoral and unethical are the top trough dwellers.
Aviation safety... my arse.

But to prove what kind of effective ‘leaders’ they are going to really be, let’s see them execute the following top 3 moves;
1. Send Crawford packing
2. Send Aleck packing
3. Issue an apology to Glen Buckley and compensate him as he should be.
If these two new muppets can do the above then their is a tiny semblance of hope that CASA can be reformed, and regain industry trust and confidence. If they can’t do the above, then the same sh#t will continue as it has for the past 40 years.

Back on topic
Hi Aroa, seems like some w#nkers (CASAsexuals) have an axe to grind around here, but back to the topic of CASA. As you have also been given the ‘Buckley treatment’ let’s hope for the remaining aviation industry’s sake that the Regulator is reformed. Morrison has certainly been putting the knife though other government departments and demanding less red tape and more efficiency. CASA requires the same treatment. New leadership always brings a tiny glimmer of hope. However those of us who have been in the industry 40+ years and are on our last legs or have gotten out altogether, aren’t holding our breath.

Ah the ghost of Gobbledoick comes back to haunt the halls of Pprune. Writing style is like the signature style of a morse code operator, unique to the individual regardless of the name of the poster. You have outed yourself with that line as well as the purile schoolboy references to John Sharp in other posts. I assume that the bizarro world of prune got sick of your style and kicked you off the ferryboat. Toot toot.
