They are so good that they’ve blindsided their E190 Darwin/Adelaide pilots and “negotiated” an outcome that has them earning less than Alliance F100 pilots. What’s more is that the base salary is below the award. AFAP have applied to get this “agreement” terminated as it does not meet the BOOT test in their view.
This is nothing more than an opportunistic play at attempting to lower pilot conditions. They need to be called out on it.

Looking at the Modern award I get $160,542 for a Narrow Body Captain with the IFR and turbo jet allowances. I heard that they are getting $165K although I haven't seen a contract. Does that not meet the award then or is there something I have missed?
I believe the unions were completely unaware of this “agreement” until they stumbled across it on the FWC website.
I imagine it won’t be hard to have this piece of crap quashed.

I enquired some time ago about a DEC position onto the F100 when they were advertising for their Darwin base. I asked what the salary was, and then promptly laughed, told them it’s an absolute insult, and wished them luck.

It’s disappointing to see an agreement like that. The only reason that Alliance are there is because the folks from NJS worked so hard when negotiating their agreement. QF obviously decided they were too expensive.
Remember NJS has their head office in ADL and had a DRW base for 30 odd years!
Hopefully the folks at Alliance go hard at the next negotiation and try and get up to NJS’s pay level - they seem to be the gold standard of ‘100 seat Jet pay’ in Australia at the moment.

A greenfields agreement is assessed by Fair Work against the Air Pilots Award 2010 which definitely my and presumably your union has participated in and accepted. I'm no expert but E190 terms and pay must be par or above otherwise it would not have been accepted by Fair Work. Feel free to bag the union for their role in the Award and go as hard as you like on Alliance but hold off sledging individuals for making decisions they are entitled to make. Pretty simple if others don't agree with the terms Alliance have on offer they don't have to sign.
