How good is Alliance!!!!
Here are a few choice excerpts from your own posts;
I realise the QF skygods are better than all of us mere mortals and it will come as a shock as to why Alliance does not beg them to fly their planes but in this instance they will be at the back of the queue.
I can promise you now, no long haul QF pilot will get a seat over another qualified pilot knowing their intention is to return to Qantas.
However if they stay furloughed/ with the intention of returning to QF once things are back to normal then they should be the absolute last choice. No special favours for them, Alliance owes them nothing!!
Its not to say a QF pilot cannot apply for a job but they will not get special privileges or assistance due to being a QF pilot, that much is clear!!
Oh boy, do you have a short memory.

Seems like a fair bit of denial about any deal with Qantas, a desire to see Qantas pilots at the end of the queue and an obligatory “skygod” reference in there too. Perhaps you meant to say that, no one other than you, was saying those things.

Yes QF does have some skygods, anyone here will tell you that but I also clearly stated they dont represent the majority and Im sure the majority are hard working decent people. Stop mis-representing what I said.

As for the quote about QF pilots returning when things pick up, that was under the assumption Alliance was paying for all the training before it had been discussed that QF was actually picking up the tab and all associated costs which completely changes the outlook.
But hey, dont let FACTS get in the way of a good story.
As someone alluded to in a previous post, Qantas is giving Alliance tens of millions of dollars of work and they own just under 20%. If you have had business experience at all, you would know that this will give Q a very big say (if they want to) in who gets hired. They won't preside over every Interview but if Alliance say they will hire some Qantas folks and 3 months later they haven't hired any, or much fewer than they agreed to Qantas will want to know why.
QF internal people shouldn’t have come out saying x people are getting x jobs, we are paying for this and they are paying for that....I’m aware some are not impressed that was said and it should really be backtracked.
Now if I’m the CP, it’s Type rated first. Qantas International Pilots last, unless they resign. I’d be looking at those Tiger and Virgin boys and girls also. Most likely is how it’s going to play out anyway. You also need to screen for d!ckheads inside the Roo cause plenty there is.
So no QF driver on stand down gets a seat? How about they resign and then they get a seat? Sounds fair to me.
Plenty of dickheads everywhere. A lot on here, from all airlines.
so far all we know is that it has been communicated to QF that LWOP will be available. Until I see the opposite, then I’ll assume that’s what’s happening. Yes type rated will be first initially. The agreement is for 3, but up to 14. I would t expect to see any LWOP until airframes after 3 are used, and that’s a while off. What you think is right or fair really has no bearing on what the outcome will be. Time will tell.

What ‘Business Experience’ do you have? They don’t have a controlling stake you fool, they have no say. Bit like Qatar owning stakes in all sorts of big players. It’s a shareholding stake only.

Bingo.

Bingo.
From purely a salary point of view, QF international folk have earned the most money over the last few years so should rightfully be at the back of the queue when taking into account Tiger, VA, Rex etc. They probably have more savings so should bite the bullet this time.
I know this will be turned into TFH2 hates QF and all their pilots...I dont!
Even if QF do pay for all their e-jet training and other costs its still not fair on say a King Air driver or Tigerair pilot who would have stayed with Alliance long term. He will now sit jobless whilst a Qantas pilot has a job to go to in the future and gets a temporary seat at Alliance to pass the time.
Cant blame others for being pissed of with that arrangement!

Since when does fairness have anything to do with business decisions ?
TFH you will learn pretty soon that Qantas management do not give a rats arse about what’s fair or right.
The issue driving this is with the A380 unlikely to return and no aircraft orders Qantas has 300 or so surplus pilots now. Even after the last redundancies
What Qantas should do is just pay CRS to these guys and girls. Instead it is slow baking people with endless stand downs. It also wants people to voluntarily leave and take jobs elsewhere which is what this whole palava is about.
That’s why they made it a condition of the deal originally for Alliance to get the E Jet work it was going to also have to agree to take surplus QF pilots and cabin crew. As per the CPs email.
You have consistently slagged off Qantas pilots as Skygods. I have to ask you - how many QF pilots do you actually know and how many of them have, in your presence, said and done embarrassing things.
I am betting the answer to both is nil.

Love the thread drift.
How good is Alliance? Pretty bloody good if you look at the ASX!
If you know the industry as most here purport to well again, how good is Alliance? Pretty bloody good!
The business strategy I have always liked, the F100’s and parts supply, amazing.
Now 30 E190’s, as I mentioned earlier no doubt a stack of parts you can’t jump over to boot.
How good are Qantas pilots? Dunno, all have ATPL’s and a ticket so I’d say pretty bloody good. How many are sky gods? Well I’d say one for sure, after all he wrote a book. Apart from that I only personally know one other. The rest normal, ok some lean towards Oztronaughts but that ain’t limited to the QF.
How good are Jitstar pilots? See above. On and on it goes.
It is a shame there is no E190 sim in Oz, with Covid ratings overseas a pain in the arse. Surely a deal with Singapore if the E jet Sim is still there? No quarantine on arrival in Singapore if you ain’t got the C.
How good is Alliance? I’d say pretty bloody good!
Do I work there? Nope, would I yep. Do I have a chance? Prob not as not a QF pilot and I’m still looking for the E190 rating I don’t have.
Ok back to thread drift.
