Air Niugini resume Domestic flights - on Tue 7th April

PX resume domestic flights on Tuesday 7th.
Interesting, I guess they are short of money. Whilst other airlines have reduced or canceled operations to prevent the Covid spread, its appears not the case in PNG.

They only had 1 test kit, but that's beside the point.

Confirmed second case has been reported in East New Britain. I highly doubt that PNG can remain relatively immune to this virus considering what’s going on elsewhere.

Fear is that once it gets a hold in the community in PNG, it will kill hundreds if not thousands due to lack of hygiene and a health system that cannot adequately support the community at the best of times.

Sad but reality in my opinion. I hope I’m totally incorrect!!!!!

The company I work for had half a dozen PNG Nationals stuck here in POM due to the fact that the close down happened too suddenly for us to get them home. Today we are sending all but one of them to their home provinces. Buying a ticket on line is easy. Buy the ticket and turn up and fly. Going through a travel agent (as we are doing for reasons too complicated to explain here) you need a company letter and a Police letter to fly. The one remaining cannot fly to here province today but hopefully we can get them home Tuesday.

Have noticed ANG flying to SIN and BNE but told that they are not bringing in to POM any passengers at all; Just freight?
